Hey It's Okay Tuesday

Happy Tuesday peeps!  Today I decided to join in on the linky party over at Airing My Dirty Laundry. Have you been to her blog yet? Amber is a VERY funny lady and I always get a laugh out of her blog each day. She is so real and down to earth - you will love her so go check her out! :)

Anyway, I've never played along in her linky party before so it's a first for me - here goes nothing:

* To be SO thankful that today is my Friday - WOO HOO!!!

* To be going "HOME" for the Holidays - it's been TOO long since we've been home during Thanksgiving or CHRISTmas.

*To have been listening to CHRISTmas music for the past 3 weeks now.

*To have my CHRISTmas tree and other decorations up already due to being gone for the holiday.

*To be super excited to see my baby girl for Thanksgiving - I haven't seen her since June 1st.

*To be so happy that the cool temps are finally here and that we will get even colder temps back home. Last year it was over 80 degrees here in Texas at Thanksgiving - THAT was not a feeling of holidays are in the air to me.

Well, that's all I can think of off the top of my head at the moment.  I'm at work and better get back at it. Have a wonderful and blessed day my friends and thanks for stopping by to say hello.  Please let me know you were here!

Lots of love and hugs,

Weekend Wrap Up

Happy Happy Monday guys and dolls!  Welcome to a VERY short week! How was your weekend? Great, I hope!  Ours was very nice, but OH SO BUSY.  I had SO much to get done in such a short time frame that it was just crazy!  We are heading out of town to go see family this year for Thanksgiving, so I had double the work than normal.  I had to complete my CHRISTmas cards, decorate my table - finally - finish the tree, complete a couple of presents for our parents and then wrap them.  Then, I had to bake homemade cookies for my husband's staff who are working on Thanksgiving Day.  Last year we didn't travel, so we actually made extra turkey dinners and took to the staff that day since they had to work.  But this year, there simply was just not enough time to do something besides bake cookies.

In between all of this, we also had laundry to take care of - and oy - the packing - did I mention the packing... which, by the way, we've yet to start - that's on tonight's to do list.  I am just hoping for an early day at the office today, so I can get home as quickly as possible and get the packing started and finished as we leave tomorrow night!.  I am really excited because the temperatures are going to be in the 30's and 40's back home.  Last year we had 80 degree temps here in Texas and call me spoiled - but to me - that is just NOT Holiday weather - boo!

Our daughter who lives back home in Arkansas, will be making the trip up to Fayetteville to have Thanksgiving with us and we are SO excited.  We've not seen our girl since June 1st.  That's a looonnngg time to not see my baby girl!  My son and his best friend are also making the drive up separately from us as they each have a test in College that morning at 10 a.m. and can't leave at the same time we are.  Once we get to my Mother-in-laws we will hit the ground running from there.  She's having back surgery in a week or so and isn't able to do a lot, so we will be pitching in and helping her out with the cooking and CHRISTmas decorating, etc.  It's going to be a fast and furious trip, but one that we are SUPER excited for and really looking forward to.

I didn't think I'd get to see my mother this trip, but she's coming through the area we will be in on Saturday afternoon, so we are meeting up and getting together for dinner that night - so I'm super excited about that as well.  She's another one I've not seen since May - sigh.

So, there you have it peeps - my weekend in a nutshell.  How about yours?  Fill me in - can't wait to hear all of the deets!  Did you get your CHRISTmas tree put up yet?  Are you listening to CHRISTmas music yet? Have you bought and wrapped any gifts?  What about your Thanksgiving Day - what are you and your family doing for the holiday?

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment so I know that you were here! :)  And because I don't like to do a post without a photo of some sort, here you go:

Friday Five

Happy TGIF my peeps!  I don't know about you, but I, for one, am SOOOO happy it is FINALLY Friday - sheesh - this has been such an extremely looooooooonnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggg week to me.  I don't know if it's the crazy week I've had at work, or if it's the anticipation of going "HOME" for the Holidays.  I literally can NOT wait.  Both hubby and I need a huge break from Houston right now.  HA!  Or not just Houston, I guess, but just a break period.  :)  So, today seemed fitting that being Friday that I played along with the 5 on Friday link up party again.  :)

Happy 20th Birthday To My Baby Girl!

Happy Thursday guys and gals!  How are you?  Wow - can you believe it is already Thursday and a week from today is Thanksgiving already?  Sheesh, this year (and month) is just FLYING by SUPER fast! Anywho, I had to take some time out of this crazy 4th quarter at work to stop and wish my baby girl (my only baby girl) a VERY special and HAPPY 20th birthday.  It seems like yesterday that she was in my arms as a newborn and here she is already 20 years old today.  Talk about time passing FAST.  I am really beginning to feel VERY old - LOL

So Happy Happy birthday to the sweetest most loving beautiful daughter I know.  I love you to the moon and back and am SO happy God blessed me to be your mama! I am sorry I can't be there to celebrate with you today, but I love you and will be thinking of you all day on your special day.  I hope you liked your birthday present this morning.

Thanks for stopping by to say hello my friends - be sure to let me know you were here! :)

Five on Friday

Happy Friday guys and dolls!  How are you?  How has your week been?  Great, I hope!  As you can see we have had such a BUSY week that I've not had a chance to even blog - blah.  Where I work (a law firm), in our department (Finance) the 4th Quarter is our busiest ever so it's crazy around here until the end of the year, to say the least.  :)

Anywho - do you have any big plans for the weekend?  Can you believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner already?  WHERE did this year go?  It seems like the old adage is true - the older we get, the faster the time flies.  We will be finishing up our CHRISTmas decorating this weekend once and for all.  We won't be home for the Thanksgiving holiday this year, so we had to get things up and decorated earlier than normal. But, I must admit, CHRISTmas is my most favorite time of year and I LOVE the decorating and listening to Christmas music while doing so. :)

SO... I decided today that I would join in on the Five on Friday hosted by Darci over at The Good Life.  I just came across her website by accident today via Kelly over at Kelly's Korner.  Be sure to go check them both out - they are great reads! :)

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday my friends!  How was your weekend?  Great, I hope!  Ours was very nice and relaxing. We did a lot of shopping until we dropped!  It was mainly for Christmas, plus we got things to take home for Thanksgiving. We decided to start adding a village to our Christmas decorations. We used to have one many years ago but sold it in one of our yard sales. While I didn't get any pictures of our village decorations I did take a couple pictures of our tree as well as the HUGE mess in my living room and dining room area (just keeping it real folks):

See... I toldja - a HUGE mess - LOL. Luckily, my sweet hubby is just as crazy as I am about CHRISTmas so he can handle the mess for a little bit like me, until we can get it all put back together.  As you can see, it's a work in progress and I still have tons of work to go. It is a 9 ft pre-lit tree that I got at a yard sale for $25 a few years ago. It was originally $400 and from Hobby Lobby. I'd say I got a heck of a good deal, what do you think?! :). The only bad thing is that as I get older, the tougher it gets to pull it all together by myself. My husband works on the outside lights as I work on the tree. We are starting earlier this year because we will be home in Arkansas for Thanksgiving so we won't be able to do it Thanksgiving weekend as we normally do.

Anyway.... Tell me about your weekend. Did you do anything fun and exciting??  Fill me in and update me with all of your fun stuff!! Oh and since I only had 2 entries for my 1000th post giveaway, I am giving them each a gift since they entered.  So.... A Joyful Chaos and Lauren Taylor - congrats!  Please email me your home addresses and I will go pick out a necklace for each of you and get it out sometime later this week. :)

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by to say hello and please let me know you were here! :)

Fall Mug Swap Reveal

Happy TGIF peeps!  I don't know about you but I am SO happy today is finally Friday!  This week has been completely exhausting to me.  How has your week been?  Great, I hope!  A couple of weeks back I joined in with a few other girls in The Java Mama's Fall Mug Swap and it was really fun!  I had 2 swap partners because there weren't an even number of swappers, so I swapped with my sweet friend, Becky, the host too.  Here is the one from her and I LURV it!  Whatcha think?!

Isn't it CCCUUUTTEEEE??!! :)  And she also sent along a $5 gift card and a cute tag to Starbucks for a cup of coffee to go with it!  I wish I had thought of doing that same thing - usually I'm really thoughtful that way as well.  I told you it was a rough week. *sigh*  Thank you, Becky!  I've already enjoyed using it and look forward to many more times over the Fall/Winter months ahead!  :)

Here is the one from my other partner, Miranda over at Our Nesting Place:  It has sharks and surf boards all around it. She lives in Hawaii. It is SO SO CUTE and I LUV it!  She also sent me a cute note and some coffee smelling scentsy bars that made my son want to eat them (he's 19 and a coffeaholic like me) - LOL  Again, a big fat FAIL from me on the extra gift thing, though I did throw a small something in each of their mugs.

Ya'll be sure to go check out their cute blogs - they are some sweet ladies! :)  I am looking forward to doing more of these kinds of swaps (without failing next time in the "extra" department").

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  The hubs and I are headed to NW Arkansas for the weekend to check out some fall foilage and some cool temps for a change! :)

Thanks for stopping by and please remember to enter my 1000 post giveaway.  I may extend it another week to get some other entries.  :)  You can find the link here.

Lots of love and hugs,
