Happy Thursday my friends! I decided to go ahead and venture out at lunch yesterday and fight the crowds of people to get a few pictures of the parade to share with all of you. It was a madhouse needless to say but it was such a beautiful and warm day and SO worth it. I had gotten tired of staying in the office every day at lunch due to the cold weather, rain and snow so..... I hope you enjoy the sights:
Our fine servicemen:
It wouldn't be St. Paddy's Day without the Bagpipes!
There were bands from all over:
And people from all over:
This girl was having a GREAT time - trust me! HA!
There were even Leprechauns:
Two of the many, many flags being carried through the parade
More bagpipes:
These little "Leprechauns" were so beautiful and posed the minute they saw me taking their pictures! I think they were told to do so as I saw many of the other girls in the group doing the same thing. I thought they all looked adorable and it made me want to go give them all a big hug or at least get in the picture with them! I loved their entire outfits all the way down to their tights! How CUTE were they! :o)
Then we had some REAL characters like this guy:
and these women:
but especially this cutie pie!
And I went in search of THIS tshirt and walked up and down several avenues and streets just trying to FIND one! It was only $10 - SCORE! :o)
And OMG - this dress in the window of Anthropologie was to.die.for! I loved everything about it and wanted to go in and buy it right then off the manequin. Not sure of the price tag but it was BEAUTIMOUS! (Check out the turtles on it)
Well, that concludes our tour from the St. Patrick's Day Parade. I hope you had a great time and enjoyed the photos. It was SO worth fighting the crowds to get a few pictures and get some Vitamin C on my body for a change. :o) I really wish I could have enjoyed a Green Beer during my lunch hour too but sadly, that was not allowed since I had to go back to work and all.... :o(( Oh well... maybe next year I will take the day off and spend the day with the other crazies and have some corn beef and green beer instead of being stuck in the office. :o)
I hope you were all able to enjoy the beautiful, warm and sunshiny day yesterday. I think I will be getting back out of the office again today as it is supposed to be sunny and 70 degrees in the City - YAY!!!! Have a great day my peeps - tomorrow is finally Friday - WOO HOO!
Lots of love and hugs,
What fun!!!! I wish I could have been there!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post, the parade looks like it was such fun. I liked all your pictures but my favourite had to be the elderly man (cutie-pie) who for me summed it up nicely.
