Hey, It's Okay Tuesday

Happy Happy Tuesday friends!  Hope your Monday was as awesome as you are! Mine was spent all day in a banking class - literally..... alllllllllllll dayyyyyyyyyy long............ B-O-R-I-N-G - did I mention how bad I hate the banking field?! Blah....blah....blah..... Oh well.... I learned a lot so I'd say that was at least a WIN, right?! :)  Okay... on to the Tuesday roundup with Amber at Airing My Laundry, One Post at a Time.  Come play along and be part of the "cool" crowd, um kay?! :)

-- To be so happy for the invention of electricity.  After being without power for over 16 hours this past weekend, I forgot how nice it was not to rough it like the olden days - hey, I needed my coffee and stat!!!

-- To be super excited that my Hogs won against Auburn last weekend in a 4 OT game and we were able to pull it off in the clutch - WPS!!!

-- To be glad that my new meds have officially gotten into my system how they should be that they are no longer giving me vertigo - sheesh - talk about a long time coming for that one

-- To be so happy that this weekend is turn back the clocks to get an extra hour of sleep - whoop whoop!!!

-- To be thrilled that it also means that Fall, Thanksgiving and my new grandson being born are on the immediate horizon - I can NOT wait to kiss all over his cheeks and hold him and squeeze him and call him George - anyone remember that show.... best cartoons every when I was growing up:

So what about you guys and dolls?  What are your Hey, It's Okay Tuesday thoughts today?  Be sure to link up! Have an awesome day and thanks for stopping by to say hello. :)

Lots of love and hugs,

Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday lovies! Hope your Monday went well yesterday.  Mine was nuts, but I expected that to be the case upon returning to work after being out of town last Friday.  You know what today is, so come play along. You can link up here.

To be excited that Fall is finally in the air, even more than before.  I can't wait until it is completely Fall here - I want to walk down this path

To be so happy that we are expecting rain later this week through the weekend - unlike a lot of people, I LOVE the rain

To be thrilled that the "fall back" time change is going to happen over the next few weeks - I LOVE when it gets dark early

To be shocked still that we are almost through the Month of October already - this year is literally flying and I truly don't know where all of the time has gone

To be looking forward to the holidays - CHRISTmas is my favorite time of year, besides Fall of course

To be happy that we are only 4 days from the weekend again - I am still super exhausted from our quick trip to Illinois last weekend and need more sleep to catch up on what I've missed

To be excited about all of the Halloween shows on tv - not the scary ones but the ones like Charlie Brown - I love Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin - it's one of my favorites

To be excited that beginning Halloween night also starts the new CHRISTmas shows on the Hallmark Channel

To be VERY VERY Happy that my grandson has chosen to stay inside his mommy's tummy and bake a while longer - 5 weeks is just way too early for him to come.  While I can't wait for his arrival, I'm very happy that he wasn't born this past weekend, though he was trying hard to be

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

 Lots of love and hugs,

Friday Faves

Happy Happy Friday guys and dolls and Happy THREE DAY WEEKEND - can I get a WHOOP WHOOP!!!???  I do hope that you are all getting to celebrate that with me - I've been waiting for this day since last month when I had the first one - HA!  Today is the link up party Friday Faves and you know the drill, so come play along, won't you?!

Here are some of my faves happening at the moment:

(1) Chicago Cubs won the Wild Card game against the Pirates two nights ago.

Ya'll, this.is.HUGE!! We've not won a Wild Card game in 12 years and haven't won a World Series in over a 100 years! And Arietta is an AWESOME pitcher, but of course it doesn't hurt that he has an awesome group of teammates backing him up and being there to help make the plays in the pinch. Now today we start the Best of 5 against the St. Louis Cardinals on our way to win a spot in the World Series - this is our year - I just know it! :)

(2) Houston Astros - they won their first game of their series last night against the Kansas City Royals on their way to a push for the World Series Spot as well.

(3) My Razorbacks, of course!  We are playing Alabama tomorrow and I know it's going to be a hard fought game.  We may win and we may not - we have beat them before, but it's going to depend on who shows up to play this week on what the outcome will be.  But, I am a die hard, life long fan and will never yield and will always be rooting on my Hogs, win or lose! :)  WPS!!!

(4) This Mug - my Yeti.

Do you have one of these? OMG they are absolutely THE BEST MUG EVER invented!  When I tell you that I've had ice in it for over 12 hours straight, sitting in a HOT car in Texas heat, I am being dead serious!  I was completely shocked and amazed to be honest!  And for coffee lovers out there - trust me when I say - it keeps your coffee HOT for over 5 or 6 hours and for a while I even have to take the lid off just to let it cool down a wee bit so that I can actually drink it - it keeps it that insulated.  Also, the top I absolute LOVE because it's a tempered plastic and your lips aren't touching the stainless steel of the mug when you go to drink.  It is completely on the lid and very comfortable - it may not be a big deal to some of you, but it's a HUGE deal to me - I absolutely despise having my lips touch stainless steel when drinking it.  And yes, the $30-$40 price tag is absolutely worth every penny.  Run and get one - I promise you won't be disappointed - it is truly everything they claim it is. They come in different sizes - I think this 20 oz, a 30 oz and I know there's also a beer huggie one too. :)

(5) And last but not least:

This is SO me every Friday, but the fact that there is a 3 day weekend involved, makes the day even sweeter!! LOL

Well, have an awesome day and an even better weekend lovies.  Thanks for stopping by to say hello! I'll be pretty busy this weekend so I will see you on the flip side! :)

Lots of love and hugs,

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday guys and dolls.  I hope that you had a fantastic weekend.  Ours included some ups and downs over the weekend and to be honest, it just kind of sucked for the most part. But, here are some of the highlights:

* Friday night we got off work early about 4:30, hubby and I had a big stupid fight over nothing, which is so unlike us but we chalked it up to us being exhausted after the long stressful week we had just had - it was short lived, but still, after 18 years together, I hate arguing over stupid stuff

*Saturday morning we got up early, went and took his Truck in for an oil change and service then went to Denny's to eat breakfast and did some garage saling in the nearby neighborhood that was having their semi-annual yard sale.  I managed to find a VERY CUTE lantern for $5 that I will have to share a picture of with you later, as I don't have it here on my computer

*Saturday afternoon I was still working on Halloween decorations and our neighbors across the street called and asked us to go have drinks with them at Sharkey's, so of course we said yes! :)  The weather was gorgeous and it was overlooking the lake - what more could you want? Cold drinks, lake view and friends - nothing better, right!

*After that we ran home and started getting stuff prepped and ready because our beloved HOGS were about to play at 6:00 against the Tennessee Vols and we were hankering for a win and we did - thankfully we broke our 3 game losing streak - it wasn't a pretty win, but hey, at this point in time, a win is a win is a win

*Sunday started out with hubby having to work, me getting up early with him and working on more Halloween decorating and then going to get my nails done.  Sheesh - does it take anyone else 2 hours to have their nails done? It drives me crazy - but, unfortunately, my nails are so weak and thin that if I don't have them done with gel overlay and shellac, they will break constantly and split. :( Hubby got home early afternoon and the rest of our evening consisted of some cooking and watching tv and relaxing, but another night of insomnia for me - blah

I hope you had a fantastic weekend.  We are enjoying this really COOL weather here in Texas that we've been having the past few days - lows in the 50's and 60's and highs in the low 80's with no humidity - yes, please. :)

Have a fabulous day and thanks for stopping by.

Lot of love and hugs,

Ahhhhh....it's Almost Here - Can you smell it?!

Happy Hump Day guys and dolls! I am just absolutely floored that we are officially in the last day of September.  How the heck did that happen so fast? I guess what they say is true - the older you get, the faster the years fly by.  It seems like it was just December not long ago when I had to have emergency gallbladder surgery - I just don't know where the last 9 months have gone.  Anyway, I am linking up with Jessi over at Jessi's Design and Jenn over at Going the Distance for their What's Hap-Pinning Wednesday Link up party.  I just found them both today, and I can't wait to read up on the rest of their blogs! Come play along, won't you?! :)

Since we live in the Houston, Texas area, we don't get Fall here really until mid November sometime usually. It is awful....  As you well know, I am a HUGE Fall person and want everything that relates to Fall and since I have to currently live vicariously through others who are living in places that get to actually enjoy Fall weather and the changing of the leaves, etc., here are a few of my favorite Fall things:

Fall Candles - I use Fall Scents year 'round

Fall Tablescapes - I mean, how cute is this

Yes I am - I miss being somewhere that I can enjoy these things

Love this girl's style - it is SO me

Blanket scarves - I have this one and LOVE it

Vests - I have the one on the left and the right - guess I just need the middle one now

Oh my - I LOVE all things Plaid AND Flannel

yep - my absolute favorite view

Pumpkin Patch - need I say more

Dark nail colors - I LOVE dark nails and wear them a lot of time all year as well

Of course, what is Fall without Pumpkin and Cream Cheese

And last but not least - Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte - I try to make it at home now so that it's healthier - but man, I love this drink and can't wait for it to come back each year - maybe it's because it signals to me that Fall has officially began

What about you?  What's Hap-pinning with you? Have a great day lovies!

Friday Favorites - Where You Live Edition

Good morning and happy T*G*I*F FINALLY!!!! Whew, I don't know about you but man, am I truly and completely exhausted and SO thankful that it is FINALLY Friday and the weekend - WHOOP WHOOP!!!  One of my favorite bloggers, Becky, from The Java Mama and her friend, Kim, from Faith, Grace & Giggles have started a Friday Favorites Linky Party from September 11th thru October 23rd and I am going to be playing along each week and I hope you'll come join in the fun - every week has a different topic.

This week's edition is Where You Live.,,,,

If you've been following my blog for any time at all, then you already know where I live currently and where I've lived over the last 10 years of my life, and that I am from the Wonderful State of Arkansas.  My husband and I have been married going on 18 years next month and we have lived in several different states in the past 10 years thanks to his job.  We currently reside in the Houston Texas area but here is where we HAVE lived:

* July 2005 - moved from Home aka Arkansas to Long Island, New York - talk about a culture shock
* February 2006 - moved back home to Arkansas
* July 2006 - moved to Connecticut where we lived until November 2007
* November 2007 - moved to Florham Park, New Jersey
* September 2008 - moved to Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey where we lived for 3 1/2 years
* July 2011 - moved back home to Arkansas
* February 2012 - moved to the Houston, Texas area where we now currently reside

Here are a few things to do here in the Houston area especially if you have young kids or are sports fans:

Whew, talk about a whirlwind of moving - I felt like an army wife, though my husband isn't in the service at all and is actually in retail with the airports, and sometimes they move us like we are in the services - it.is.crazy.  But, needless to say, we are getting older and have grown very weary of all of the moves. We are actually renting here and have been for the last 3 1/2 years, because I am just not convinced that we are going to put down roots here when I long to be back home so badly near my family and friends. I am pushing my man to move us back HOME to Arkansas as soon as we are able to get back there where we belong and where my heart longs to be. I have already began the job search, though it's him who obviously has to get the job first.  I don't know if it will happen anytime soon in the near future, but I am really praying for it to work out in our favor that way.  So tell me.... where do YOU live? I look forward to reading all about it on your blogs later today.  Thanks for stopping by and please let me know you were here. And because it IS Friday, I'll leave you with these images:

Have a lovely day and a wonderful weekend my friends.

Lots of love and hugs,

Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday lovies! How was your Monday? Mine was CRAZY BUSY as usual.... blah.... I personally could go for another short week and 3 day weekend, what about you?! I know it's awful to wish your life away, and while I really don't wish my life away, I sure wish away the work week every.single.time.

Anywho, on to the Hey, It's Okay Tuesday linky party that I like to join in over at Amber's at Airing My Laundry, One Post at a Time.  If you've not checked out her website yet, then RUN, don't walk, because you my friend, are MISSING out BIG time!  Amber is a blog I've followed for quite a few years now and she never ceases to amaze me with her posts - she literally cracks me up to the point I feel very inferior because how can someone be so funny and someone like me not? HA! Well, I guess when you got it, you got it, and folks, I just don't have it....but Amber sure does! :)

Okay, so here we go:

-- To have been so mad at my Razorback Football team for literally blowing the game against Toledo this past Saturday, one we SHOULD have won by 3 touchdowns, instead we lost by 4 points

-- To be enjoying this NO Humidity/Cool Temps we've been having here in Texas for the past 3 days straight - I am a FALL girl and SO ready for Fall

-- To be so happy that the Holiday months are upon us.  This year has flown by SUPER fast, but... I'm ready for the Holiday season.  I just love everything it brings with it - cool crisp air, family and friend gatherings, good food, etc.

-- To hate early mornings the older I get.  I remember growing up and my grandparents were always up at the crack of dawn, literally before dawn actually - we're talking 4 a.m. and I have to get up at 5:30 every morning and dread it.

-- To despise Insomnia - see reason above ^^

Well, I'm off to finish getting ready for work - I have to leave extra early today - 6:30 early because I have a dr's appointment this afternoon and have to leave early for that - luckily it's an early day since I didn't sleep much last night.  Hope you all have a fabulous day and thanks for stopping by!  Don't forget if you want to play along, to go add your link to the linky party as well.  :)

Lots of love and hugs,
