Friday Favorites

Happy Happy Friday dollface! Whew, we've made it to another weekend - yay!!! I don't know about you, but it's been a long week here and I, for one, am SO ready for the weekend just so I can relax. HA! But, poor Mr. A has to open new stores in the airport and will be stuck working all weekend instead. :(  Anyway, you know what today is and the rules, so come on, let's play! :)

One - When you're in the Starbucks line before work and the male barista tells you how much he loves your hair and thinks it is just beautiful - LOL ya'll I am NOTHING like this below, but I couldn't pass up this funny for his comment, though I do get tons of compliments on my hair, which I am very thankful and appreciative of, because to me, it's a huge compliment

Two - My favorite wine - Beringer White Zinfandel. It is very inexpensive and has a great flavor - not too sweet and just right

Three - My daily pictures of my grandson and his infectious smile. I mean, swoonnn.... am I right ladies? :)

Four - My favorite coffee mug that my mother sent to me and sister many, many years ago that when I drink out of it, I pretend I am sitting at the table drinking coffee with her each morning

Five - Favorite Funny this week - LOL ya'll this is SO me - I HATE mis-spelled words and horrible grammar - it drives me crazy!

As I was lying in bed pondering the problems of the world, I rapidly realized that I don't really give a rat's ass.  It's the tortoise life for me!

1. If walking/cycling is good for your health, the postman would be immortal.

2. A whale swims all day, only eats fish, drinks water, and is fat.

3. A rabbit runs and hops and only lives 15 years.

4. A tortoise doesn't run and does nothing, yet it lives for 450 years.

And you tell me to exercise?? I don't think so.  I'm a senior. Go around me!

Friday Funnies

Happy Friday my peeps!  We finally  made it to the weekend - WHEW!  I wasn't sure if it would ever get here - were you?! LOL  So what have you got planned this weekend?  Anything fun and exciting?  We have to go back to Connecticut and pick up our daughter who has been spending the week with her best friend there for one last summer hoo rah (sp?).  Then since we still own a house there (a rental one) then we have to do some clean-up work around the yard and get things in order because I think we are finally going to put it on the market to sell.  Yes, I know this is not the best time to do so, but to be quite honest, we are just tired of having this house there - we now own 3 houses in 3 different states - talk about rough to keep up with! Sheesh!   However, due to my knee being in such pain, I get "lucky" and get out of the work and get to do the grocery shopping and such while the hubster, daughter and son are doing all of the hard labor - awww.... :o)  So what are on your agenda's for the weekend? 

Anyway, next week stay tuned and be on the lookout for new household tips to be shared. With back to school starting back for most everyone (except us - we don't go back until September 2nd),  I wanted to share some household tips to make things easier on you while your schedule gets busier and busier with school back in session.  Hopefully, they will be ones you can appreciate and put to good use to make your life easier. :o)

This one really made me LOL because of the modern technology we have nowadays and when it comes to blogging - we all use some sort of program (well those who are talented do - I'm not one of them though - HA) to edit our pictures and such before putting them on our blog. And it seems I am always on the lookout for some kind of picture editing site that is fun and easy to use.  Though, I must admit, I LOVE LOVE LOVE looking at everyone else's family photos - vacation, holidays, everyday life, etc....

I absolutely LOVE the Peanuts comic strips and all things Peanuts related.  This one just cracked me up today!

Friday Funnies

HAPPY FRIDAY my wonderful and lovely friends!  All I have to say is "WHEW" we FINALLY made it to the weekend.  Even though it's been a short week for me - it's been so LONNNNNNGGGGG at the same time and I'm just glad that tomorrow is Saturday and I can sleep in past 5:15 a.m. in the morning.  Although, I do have a teeth cleaning at 8:45 in the morning, it still is better than getting up at 5 - right?!  My girlfriend and I may get together to make St. Patrick's Day wreaths like we did for Valentine's Day but I'm not sure yet.  If we do it will probably be on Sunday.  I really need to finish painting my living room too (the trim as well).  What are your exciting plans for the weekend?  Since today is finally Friday - TGIF - I thought I would pass along a Friday Funny for you.  I might make this a weekly series but we'll see how it goes.  This was sent to me via email yesterday and I thought it was hilarious - except for the fact it could be describing my grandfather - LOL  Anyway - I hope you find it as humorous as I did! :o)

HOW TO CALL THE POLICE WHEN YOU'RE OLD AND DON'T MOVE FAST ANYMORE.

George Phillips, an elderly man, from Meridian, Mississippi,was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turn off the light, but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.

He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?"   He said "No, but some people are breaking into my garden shed and stealing from me.”

Then the police dispatcher said "All patrols are busy. You should lock your doors and an officer will be along when one is available."    George said, "Okay."

He hung up the phone and counted to 30. Then he phoned the police again.

"Hello! I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed.. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I just shot and killed them both. The dogs are eating them right now," and he hung up.

Within five minutes, six police cars, a SWAT team,a helicopter, two fire trucks, a paramedic, and an ambulance showed up at the Phillips' residence and caught the burglars red-handed.

One of the policemen said to George , "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"   George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

Don't mess with old people! HA HA!! :o)
