Friends, Football and Weekend Fun

Happy Sunday guys and dolls!  I wasn't sure I'd have time to post this weekend, but I wanted to put this on here anyway while I had a quick minute.  We had a wonderful weekend and it started off with a nice relaxing Friday night.  Then on Saturday we got everything together to prepare to watch our Hogs play the Aggies at 11:30 yesterday morning.  We completely lost 58-10 which was purely ridiculous to say the least.  All around this will just be a really bad season for our Hogs. :(

Later Saturday afternoon, our besties came down from Arkansas to spend the night with us and hang out before they left for their cruise to the Caribbean this morning.  We had such a wonderful time with them and miss them so much!  It's always so nice when friends and family come to town so they can stay and hang out for a little while.  We don't have that luxury very often, unfortunately. :(

Me and Tricia - I LOVE this girl!!

It was Joe's birthday on Saturday so we took him to our favorite little Mexican restaurant and they sang happy birthday to him and gave him a cake. However, he ended up buying dinner and wasn't supposed to. It was a nice thing for them to do - but silly when it was supposed to be our treat.

Me and the hubby in our Oregon Ducks shirts (they won last night too - yay)

Drinks were empty - it was time for round 2
Oh well.... then we got up early this morning and Tricia and I cooked breakfast (white gravy, chocolate gravy, bacon, sausage, eggs and bisquits) YUM!  Tricia makes the BEST gravy ever and no matter how many times I have tried to make it I totally mess it up.  So it was a real treat that she was here to cook her famous gravy for us! :)

So... how has your weekend been so far?  Don't forget to stop by again tomorrow so you can continue with me through our Oregon vacation.  I can't wait to show you even more pictures!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by! :)

Lots of love and hugs,

It's Game Day Baby!

Happy Saturday!  I know I probably shouldn't be posting this as bad as we've been stinking it up this year so far, BUT I am and always will be a loyal Hog fan and must continue to root them on.  So... fingers crossed - let's hope they actually pull out a win this morning!

Day 2 - End of Cannon Beach

Happy TGIF my peeps!  Welcome to the weekend!!!  Do you have anything special planned?  We don't have a lot but 2 of our besties are coming in to stay with us tomorrow night as they are leaving on Sunday morning for a cruise out of Galveston.

We can't WAIT to see them!  It's been since New Year's Eve that we've seen them!  I wish we could have gone with them but we just didn't have enough time off, hence the short and quick trip to Portland!  Anywho.... onto the pictures of our cute and adorable little cottage:

Beautiful flowers that were out front of the cottages

 Our room
The wood carvings in this room and outside were amazing (this was the headboard)
Even the bathroom was nice and up-to-date
 The adorable downtown area

And since election time is upon us - I couldn't resist taking a picture of these two benches that were out front of the little grocery store in town - I literally LOL when I saw them! :)
Okay, so there you have it - the rest of the Cannon Beach area.  I still have a ton more pictures to show you that I am going to save until next week.  Since we are expecting company tomorrow, I have a lot to do before they arrive so I probably won't be able to blog much this weekend.  I hope you have an awesome weekend whatever your plans may be.  Don't forget to stop back by on Monday to see the beginning of the Portland area photos I have waiting for you!

Again, have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by to say hello! :)

Lots of love and hugs,

Day 2 - Oregon Coastline - Cannon Beach

Happy Thursday my friends!  We are almost to the weekend!  Just one more day - woot woot!  I can't believe how fast this week has flown by for me - especially just returning from vacation!  But, I am SO happy because we have a special weekend planned and I can't wait! :)  Okay - so on to what you're really here to see.

After we left Fort Clatsop we made our way to Seaside and did a little shopping at the Tanger Outlet mall there.  It wasn't very big but we were able to find a few things we were in desperate need of and for great prices to boot! :)

We left our shopping trip and headed to Cannon Beach - it was THE MOST GORGEOUS place we had visited at all on our trip.  We had been dying to get to the Pacific Ocean and we happened upon this place by PURE accident.  Boy, were we ever happy!  Nothing can compare to this place - it was BEAUTIFUL!!!  We want to take another trip out there and we have already decided this is where we will stay when we go back!  For those who don't know - Cannon Beach is famous for the "Haystack" Rock - don't ask me why, as I haven't a clue - BUT I do know that it's a very neat place to see.  Just take a look for yourself and tell me what you think?! :)

If you look hard enough you can see Japan - ha ha ha

 The infamous Haystack Rock

The lighthouse we couldn't get to.  The man who used to live in it had to be transported from it to the shore by helicopter

The water was VERY COLD as you can imagine (the temps were only in the 50's and it was drizzling off and on as well)

Close-up of Haystack Rock - there were signs posted that you weren't allowed to climb on this rock.  How, may you ask, were you able to get to the rock anyway?  Well... you wait for low tide of course, and then apparently you can walk right up to it

To the left of Haystack Rock - you can see one of the signs in this picture actually
 Me and my honey :)
Us in front of Haystack Rock

That ends the visit to Cannon Beach/Haystack Rock.  Be sure to stop by again tomorrow so I can show you our adorable cottage that we stayed in while visiting Cannon Beach.  It was very cute, as was the town - however, their pizza totally sucked!  Sigh - Oh well - the rest of the place was neat to see at least. :)

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by to say hi!

Day 2 - Oregon Coastline continued....

Happy Hump Day guys and dolls!  How are you?  Great, I hope!  As promised we are continuing down the Oregon coastline today.  Our first stop on Day 2 was at Camp 18.  It was a restaurant and gift shop.  As you can see - the trees they had laying in the "lumber yard" were bigger and much taller than us!
This was a saying that I found hanging on the wall in the girl's bathroom and I really loved it! I may look at re-creating it somehow to hang in our home.
Door Handle to the bathrooms which I thought was cool since it was made out of an axe!

Front porch of restaurant - I forgot to get the one of bigfoot hiding in the trees - darn it!
After a brief pitstop here - we headed on down the road and made a stop at Fort Clatsop looking for the trail of Lewis & Clark.  It had a lot of nice exhibits in here and Steven really enjoyed them since he's such a history buff! :)
Fort Clatsop:
Well, that's all for today my friends!  Be sure to stop by tomorrow as we continue our journey down the Oregon coastline!  Have a great day! :)

Lots of love and hugs,
