Hump Day and Weekend Recap

Happy Wednesday lovies! How are you today?  Great, I hope!  All is well here, just been a super busy last few days since returning from Arkansas for my daughter's baby shower.  Sheesh, who knew it could be so hard giving a baby shower? I am SO happy it's over, however, I think it turned out pretty awesome and she received a lot of nice gifts as well.  We had about 20 people total, which I thought was a great turnout.

See... you were warned! LOL  This bottom picture is one of me and my absolute 5 besties and I don't know when, if ever, I've had them all in the same room in our lifetime, so I HAD to make sure we got a picture to commemorate the occasion for sure.

On another note, my Hogs whooped up on UTEP last weekend, so that was a WIN/WIN with a great shower turnout and a Razorback win!  Next up.... Happy Friday (er.... it's my Friday anyway)

I know, I know, it's not technically Friday, but....it is Friday for me as far as work goes.  My hubby and I spent last night packing up everything and getting stuff in order for our long drive tonight.  Not only did we have to pack for the weekend, but we had to pack up ALL of the baby shower stuff as well, plus lawn mower, tools, etc.  You see, we drive into Arkansas tonight and we will get in to mother's about 2 in the morning.  We will get up about 7 or 8 and we will unload the truck and he will head to the big city of Little Rock to pick up his brother and they will then head to our land in Mtn. Home to do some work on it. After that, they will drive back to Little Rock for the night and then on Saturday they will be headed to Fay-town for the BIG Game - that's right - it's FOOTBALL time and that means - RAZORBACK FOOTBALL season! WHOOP WHOOP!!!

The guys will be enjoying the big game, while us women folk tend to the baby shower for my daughter.  I'm thinking of going with something like this to keep it simple, but, I will have something besides the cake on that table, along with a longer table instead of the round:

I have been having fun pulling stuff together and can't wait to see it all completed and decorated for her.  It's also been a while since I've gotten to see a lot of my friends back home so I'm really looking forward to hanging out with all of them for a few hours as well as hanging out with my mama on Friday and Saturday too. :)

Sunday we have our best friend's son's 9th birthday party, which is also in Hot Springs.  I think we will then start making our way back to the Big State of Texas after that just so we can rest up on Monday before going back to work.  That drive isn't too long, but when you are our age, a long car drive can be cumbersome and very tiring, even if it is only 6-7 hours total from door to door.

Anyway, that's what's coming up for my holiday weekend - what do you and your family have planned? Three Things Thursday

Happy Thursday friends!  Just wanted to say hello and see how your week is going so far?  Ours is going good but still crazy busy at work for both me and my husband.  I don't know about you, but I am SO ready for Friday and the weekend - LOL

I have a friend on Facebook who posts a Three Things Thursday on her page every week and I thought this was a great idea, so I decided to borrow it and start doing the same here.  Feel free to play along if you'd like - would love to see your Three Things as well.

1.  Yesterday afternoon at 4:30 when I got off of work, it was a blustery 79 whopping degrees here in Houston. Considering that this time last week it was already over 103 degrees, this made me extremely happy.  I am a HUGE Fall person and living in Houston Texas does not allow me to enjoy the Fall season until December when the temps actually begin dropping - it was over 80 degrees for Thanksgiving a couple of years back - talk about miserable! Blah....  Bring me this any day:

2.  There is just a little over 2 weeks until my most favorite time of the year begins - Arkansas Razorback Football season - woo hoo!!!

3.  Also, the same day the first game of the football season begins, just also happens to be the day that we are having my daughter's baby shower - talk about poor planning on my part - or should I say, my husband's part, as it was his idea since it was Labor Day weekend - we just forgot to look at the football schedule first.  Can you tell we are ready for football?! HA!  Too bad the baby shower isn't going to be football themed - rats! But, here is another picture of my beautiful daughter and grandson to be - can't wait until he gets here and I get to hold him and love all over him - he is going to be SO spoiled.... :)
