New Blog Design & Birthday

Happy Hump Day peeps! Hoping your week is going well so far! Mine is okay, but definitely going a lot slowwwwer than I had hoped for. But, after 2 weeks with holidays in them, it's not surprising that having to actually work a full week makes things feel even slower than normal - HA HA HA

Anyway, I've been thinking about this for a while and I'm hoping that you wonderful ladies will help a sista out! :) I want to update my blog and bring it into the 2016 realm. I've been using free templates since the first day I started this blog many years ago and I want to give it a full face lift, so if you use someone great for your blog design, please let me know who they are so that I can hit them up about doing some work here on my poor little ole blog, um kay?! :)  Thanks!

On another note, today is this sweet and precious girl's 44th birthday - my baby sister! Isn't she beautiful! :) She is one of my best friends in the whole world and she and I live in 2 different states and literally talk on the phone every.single.day on my way to work each morning.  She makes me laugh and is always there to listen when I need to vent, as well as offer advice or just agree with me, if she thinks I'm right, or tells me when I'm wrong too.  I don't know what I would do without her and love getting to spend time with her as often as we can get together, which sadly, isn't that often anymore since we live so far away.

Scalloped Pineapple Dessert

Happy Thursday lovies!  I made a recipe for the first time for Thanksgiving and wanted to share it with all of you.  It is one my mother used to make at the holidays and I had completely forgotten about it.  It turned out spectacular and was even better than I recalled. :)  The only downfall to it is that I didn't get a picture of it before my boys had devoured it all..... But...I was able to go onto the wonderful internet and locate a picture for you:

 

 

Scalloped Pineapple

Ingredients:

1 3/4 cups white sugar
1/2 cup cream or milk (I used Heavy Whipping Cream)
3 eggs slightly beaten
6 slices of white bread (broken up into small pieces)
2 sticks melted butter
1 large can of Crushed Pineapple (drained)

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together and place in 1 1/2 quart baking dish.
Bake at 350 degrees uncovered for 40 to 45 minutes.

Trust me when I say - if you like pineapple, you will LOVE this recipe wholeheartedly!  It has such a wonderful BUTTERY taste that it's hard to stop eating it.  I prefer eating it warm, however, others enjoy it cold.  This will be a wonderful and quick and easy addition to your Christmas meal - I promise.  :)

Hello... anyone still around????

Hello my wonderful friends!  I know it has been over a week and a half since you've last heard anything from me, and I'm sorry.  Things at home are just tough right now in various ways and blogging has just taken a backseat to it all.  We've had someone stalking us from out of state that my husband used to work with and she is causing all kinds of havoc.  We've had to change our home numbers and our cell numbers for the 2nd time and it's just plain ridiculous!  On top of that, my 17 yo daughter (who turns 18 in 2 weeks) has decided she wants to go live with her biological dad in another town to finish out her senior year - which makes me very, very sad. :( 

Anyway, I hope to be back to my regular scheduled blogging soon.  I am off to catch up on your blogs now.  Hope things in your neck of the woods are much better than over here in mine.  I'm extremely sad and can't seem to shake this dark cloud that has been hovering over me the last 6 months. *sigh*

Happy TGIF!!

Happy Friday my friends!  I don't know about you, but whew - we finally made it to the weekend - I am SOOOO tired.  The rain storm that rolled through our town yesterday morning at 2:45 woke me up and I tossed and turned until 4 and then finally got out of bed.  So as you can imagine, I slept wonderful last night and slept hard.  The only downfall to that is that now I'm even MORE exhausted due to trying play catch up on my sleep.  I stopped for coffee this morning and had 4 shots of espresso in my coffee and it has done NOTHING to help wake me up - 4 shots and NUTTIN??? SERIOUSLY???  *sigh*  Oh well.

Today at lunch I am going to meet up with a classmate from high school that I've not seen in TWENTY-FIVE years - yep you read that right - 25 years!  We are actually having our 25 year reunion next month - WOW - I just can't get over how fast time has flown by - sheesh!  Really, really makes me feel old! HA!  Then after that me and the family will be headed to Razorback Country a/k/a Fayetteville to hang out with family and friends.  If any of you are in town and available let me know  - I'd love to meet up with you and say hi or something! :)

I tried uploading a video today of my grandfather that I went to see a few weeks back, singing his famous song but couldn't get the darn thing to work.  If anyone knows HOW to get that to upload for me that would be great - also, I want to switch everything over to my other blog but not sure how to do that - do any of you know the procedure so that I don't lose everything here from the last 2 years?

Needed - YOUR thoughts/ideas - Gift card giveaway!!!

Hello my friends and wlecome to Friday and the weekend!  WOO HOO!!  So tell me - anything new and exciting on your weekend agenda's by chance?  We have a huge weekend planned starting with my son's school play that he is in - called...... Les Miserables - ever heard of it? LOL  Anyway, as long as they will let me, I WILL be taking pictures to show off on Monday - he has 3 big parts in it! :)  That is tonight and tomorrow night and then on Saturday and Sunday we will be doing our final shopping and packing for our trip for next week and I CAN'T WAIT!  We are so tired of the snow and cold and are MORE than ready for our Spring Break to Florida. 

Okay - soooo.... on to the question of the day - I need to (obviously) revamp my entire blog (as I no longer have but one or two people who comment anymore - and I love those people who do) and would love to know what you would like to see here on my "new and improved" blog in the bloggy world.  Do you want to see more family/vacation/daily normal pictures or maybe more restoration projects or maybe craft or recipes too?  Or.... maybe all of the above (you know - a page for each subject)?  I am also on the look out for a new blog makeover and I know pretty much what I am wanting and especially have the colors and design all figured out so if you have some ideas you can share with me on who I can go to for said makeover I would greatly appreciate your help. :)

I am thinking about changing the name of my blog as well and would like your input on that too.   I'm considering making this into a contest of some sort to help me come up with a new name for it.  The winner would receive a $25 gift card to someplace like Target, or Panera Bread, etc.  and possibly even there choice (depending on if we have that around here too and easily accessible) 

Sooo... give your thoughts, opinions, ideas, etc. and let's get this ball rolling.  I am not setting an end day to the contest as of yet, I just want your best and freshiest ideas.  And, in case you need a little help to get started (for the new name of the blog) - here are a few thoughts about me that come to mind currently to help:

When I am not pretending to be the boss around the Mouse House, I can be found working as a mid-level administrator at our local hospital. I have a peculiar love for raw onions, small restaurants, and all things Italian. I believe that most of life’s problems can be solved over a cup of coffee or a glass of red wine and that every morning should begin with Champagne.
