Happy Friday (er.... it's my Friday anyway)

I know, I know, it's not technically Friday, is Friday for me as far as work goes.  My hubby and I spent last night packing up everything and getting stuff in order for our long drive tonight.  Not only did we have to pack for the weekend, but we had to pack up ALL of the baby shower stuff as well, plus lawn mower, tools, etc.  You see, we drive into Arkansas tonight and we will get in to mother's about 2 in the morning.  We will get up about 7 or 8 and we will unload the truck and he will head to the big city of Little Rock to pick up his brother and they will then head to our land in Mtn. Home to do some work on it. After that, they will drive back to Little Rock for the night and then on Saturday they will be headed to Fay-town for the BIG Game - that's right - it's FOOTBALL time and that means - RAZORBACK FOOTBALL season! WHOOP WHOOP!!!

The guys will be enjoying the big game, while us women folk tend to the baby shower for my daughter.  I'm thinking of going with something like this to keep it simple, but, I will have something besides the cake on that table, along with a longer table instead of the round:

I have been having fun pulling stuff together and can't wait to see it all completed and decorated for her.  It's also been a while since I've gotten to see a lot of my friends back home so I'm really looking forward to hanging out with all of them for a few hours as well as hanging out with my mama on Friday and Saturday too. :)

Sunday we have our best friend's son's 9th birthday party, which is also in Hot Springs.  I think we will then start making our way back to the Big State of Texas after that just so we can rest up on Monday before going back to work.  That drive isn't too long, but when you are our age, a long car drive can be cumbersome and very tiring, even if it is only 6-7 hours total from door to door.

Anyway, that's what's coming up for my holiday weekend - what do you and your family have planned? I can't wait to hear all about it, so please let me know you were here.  As you can expect, I will be away from the computer for a few days, but hope to catch up again on Monday or Tuesday morning of next week.

Have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend my peeps and thanks for stopping by!

Lots of love and hugs,

Happy Happy Hump Day guys and dolls!  Hope you're all having a fabulous week thus far.  Today is my Thursday so that makes my week even more fabulous! :)  Due to my husband and son having over an hour long debate on politics last night in my bedroom, (did I mention how much I literally DESPISE Politics - UGH) then we didn't get to bed until 10:30 last night and I am exhausted this morning, so this is going to be short and sweet and to the point because I am running super late this morning already.  Thank goodness for coffee!

Okay my sweets - have a wonderful hump day and I will see you on the flip side.  :)

Thanks for stopping by to say hello.  Please let me know you were here! :)

Lots of love and hugs,

Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday peeps!  I've been wanting to join in on this "Hey, It's Okay Tuesday" linky party for some time now.  I've been following Amber over at Airing My Laundry, One Post At A Time, for many years now and she always makes me laugh.  I love her no nonsense down to earth style. Anyway, she always does an "Hey, It's Okay Tuesday" linky party every week, and I've finally had a chance to join in, so here it goes.  Feel free to come play along as well, would you?! :)

1.  To be THRILLED that Football season is back - especially Razorback Football. (Sorry Amber - LOL)

2.  To not care less about Politics in any form or fashion.  I DESPISE them.... literally.  I am very unhappy with our current sitting President and the way he has been running our country the last 3 1/2 years - come on 2016.  I am thinking Donald Trump & Ben Carson would be a GREAT ticket to vote on this coming election.

3.  To be tired of summer - Fall, come on already, PLEASE!!! The only downside to that however, is that we live in Texas and don't see any Fall like temps, much less cool weather, until mid November, if we're lucky.  We were at 80 degrees for Thanksgiving 2 years ago - Yuck!

4.  To be excited as well as ready to get my daughter's baby shower over with this coming weekend. It's down to the wire and I'm still trying to get everything together and packed because it is out of state in Arkansas and I'm hosting.

5. To be happy that this week and next week are short weeks thanks to the Labor Day holiday - and the fact that I work in a bank makes the holiday even sweeter, as I actually have a 4 day weekend instead of a three day weekend.  Whoop whoop!!

Okay, there's my first attempt at this, so I hope you'll feel free to join in and link up with Amber and play along.  I'd love to see everything you come up with as well. :)

Thanks for stopping by and please let me know you were here. Have a great day lovies! :)

  Lots of love and hugs,

Whew....Monday, Already?! Weekend Recap

Happy Monday my peeps!  How was your weekend? Awesome, I hope!  Mine was FAR from Awesome, but was a nice weekend off and on.  Friday night started out with the visitation for our co-worker who died a week ago today.  Saturday morning the hubby and I got up and started our normal house chores, etc., before we had to go to the funeral.  The funeral was on Saturday at 2 p.m. and then after that we went back to catch up and finish some more chores. It was a nice memorial for our co-worker and he will be greatly missed, but man am I so happy it's over - it's so hard attending these things.  On Sunday we got up early and started again around the house getting things done.  Since my daughter and her husband have moved to live with his family in Missouri, we needed to clean out their room and get their stuff packed up and in the garage so when they have time after the shower to come back and get their things, then they will all be ready for them.  Why does it seem like there is never enough hours in a day on the weekend to get things done but the weekdays just seem to DRAG by??!! Sheesh... is it just me???

After that, we left and ran some errands for me to try and gather the rest of the supplies and decorations needed for me to put on the baby shower this coming weekend.  I've still got one more stop to go to Hobby Lobby and then I should have everything I need - finally.  Then this Thursday night, the hubby and I are leaving and heading home for the weekend.  He will drop me off at my mom's and he will head on up to Little Rock to hang out with his brother while I put the final touches on the shower stuff.... cupcake baking, etc.... those sorts of things.

Once the shower is over, we are just going to kind of "wing" it from there for the next 2 days and relax with friends and family before heading back home.  So.... how about your weekend?  What did you do this past weekend and what are your plans for the last summer weekend of the year?  I can't wait to hear all about it!
Okay guys and dolls, have a fabulous Monday and please let me know you were here.  :)

Lots of love and hugs,

Happy Happy TGIF

Well, happy happy Friday peeps!  Hope you've had a wonderful week so far.  We have FINALLY made it to the weekend - WHOOP WHOOP!!!!  We learned yesterday that the wife of our co-worker wants everyone to wear the Texans or Astros sports jerseys or fishing gear to the visitation tonight after work, as that's how our co-worker was - very laid back, a huge sports and fishing fanatic.  He would have loved it! So... today we are all wearing our favorite sports attire to the office and then heading to the visitation tomorrow after that.  Even as sad as the occasion is, it will be a fun time at the office today - I wish we did that more often relating to wearing our favorite sports shirts on Fridays instead of the bank shirts.  But, hey, the fact that we actually get to wear jeans every Friday makes me happy. HA!

So what's on your agenda this weekend?  Anything fun and exciting?  We have the funeral tomorrow, but other than that we are doing tons of house work and yard work and getting stuff ready for the baby shower next weekend.  I still can't get over it being here this quickly - this month has just flown for sure.  Hard to believe September is so close around the corner. My little grandson will be here before we know it.  He's due around Thanksgiving.

Well, I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed day and weekend ahead.  Thanks for stopping by and please let me know you were here.  :)

Lots of love and hugs,
