Hello friends. How are you? I'm good on my end, but exhausted, you know the routine...blah I don't know what it's going to take for me to get a good night's sleep at night where I don't feel like I've been run over by a mack truck every day when I have to get up. Thank goodness for coffee is all I can say. And today, of all days, I have a work meeting straight up at 8 a.m., which means I absolutely can't be late. Not that I'm ever late anywhere, I'm literally one of those people who are always 30 minutes early, if not more, no matter where I go. I absolutely can't take being late - it stresses me completely out.
So....I went to the dr. yesterday and I'm surprised my blood pressure was registering normal because by the time I left there I was SUPER PISSED to say the least, and with good reason. And trust me, it takes a LOT to get me mad, but even more to get me really angry. This was a new dr. that I had to go to, AND I had an appointment. However, you would never have known it because I was literally there for not 1, not 2, but THREE freaking hours and the first 2 hours were spent in the waiting room waiting to be seen! I have never seen an office run so slow in my entire life. I could have understood if I had been a "work in" but I had an appointment for cripes sake! When I did finally get taken back - they wanted to do an entire work up on me and I shut them down. To begin with I was told by the lady on the phone that they don't do a women's wellness right off the bat as your first appointment, that the dr. wants to meet you and get to know you, etc., and learn your history. Okay, no biggie, I didn't mind that at all. The problem I had was actually waiting to see the dr. and felt my time was not respected at all.
Then, when I did finally get to see the dr. I had about lost every ounce of patience that I had left by that point. Literally, I was kind to the dr., but let her know how displeased I was in having to wait for over 2 hours just to see her. She seemed unfazed, but took the time with me to get to know me and what I was needing done. On another note, once we finally got in the middle of the throws of things, then her office manager literally came into our room and told the dr. to HURRY up that she had OTHER patients! OMG I about came through the roof - I was even MORE FURIOUS by that point!! Ya'll, any other time I would have left and not waited to see this dr., but it was a year and a half past my womanly check-up that I really needed to see her more than not. The only saving grace was that she is literally a block from my house, so I got there at 3:30 for my appointment but didn't leave until after 6:30 by the time I checked out, etc. And for my time and trouble and inconvenience, they DID waive my co-pay, which I was very happy about. That was nice for them to do and much appreciated on my part. I will give them a second chance, only because I really did like the dr. and she has a great bedside manner, but if I am made to wait another 2-3 hours on that appointment, I will simply not waste my time again with them, as my time is valuable too and I only have so much patience. Trust me when I say, patience is not a virtue that I have. All I can say, the only thing that kept me from going through the roof was that I had my kindle book to keep me occupied and calm. HA!
