Home Sick - AGAIN!

I'm home today doing a lot of this:

Did I mention I don't do sick well?  My husband says I am a terrible patient but in reality the only thing I want when I am sick is to be left alone - girls - you understand... right?!  The really bad thing is that today it is a GORGEOUS SUNNY and 60 degrees outside and I am home stuck in bed with a dumb infection in my throat and ears - blah....

Home Sick - AGAIN!

Happy Tuesday

Happy Tuesday everyone!  How are you doing today?  I hope you are all doing well.  We are doing MUCH better today than we were at this time yesterday for sure.  My husband caught the stomach flu bug and became dehydrated yesterday.  He was vomiting and having severe diarreah for 7 hours straight and called me at work to BEG me to take him to the ER - which was a HUGE red flag for me as he NEVER wants to go to the dr. much less the ER - so that's when I knew he was in really BAD shape!  The bad thing is that this all hit him at 10 a.m. while he was at work in the airport and he had to drive himself home - which is an hour away.  Not only that - he had to pull over a few times to throw up - good thing he had thought to take a trashcan with him in the car from the office before he left.  Since I work in the City I couldn't get home in time to take him to the ER when he needed to go, so I had to call my girlfriend and have her take him for me and me just meet them at the emergency room.  Thank goodness for great friends is all I can say.  They were a real LIFESAVER yesterday in our time of need.

Once we got there, we were there for 5 1/2 hours before they let us go home.  The dr. ordered 2 of the drip bags but for some reason they only gave him 1 1/4 before they decided to send him home.  He was not happy as he still had a huge headache from being dehydrated and didn't feel like he was ready to go home, but home we went.  I had his prescription filled, got him some gatorade and jello and headed home to tuck him into bed.  Needless to say, due to his headache we were up most of the night last night and got very little rest.  I stayed home with him today because he didn't have much energy and was still hurting pretty bad and light headed so I wanted to be sure he was okay before I leave him alone and return to work tomorrow.

Anyway, so that was how our Monday went - how was your day yesterday? I hope it was much better than ours.  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Post it Note Tuesday - Sick Version

Hello my peeps!  First off, I just want to say how much I love all of you - thank you SO MUCH for your wonderfully sweet get well wishes yesterday - you guys are the BEST evah and I am so glad you chose to stick around and not give up on me.   I am not back to 100%, but am going to try and make it to work today.  I felt a lot better last night but for some reason feel pretty drugged up this morning (maybe because it is 5:15 a.m. EST) - who knows?!  But, tonight and tomorrow we are due 7-11 inches of snow and at this rate, I will be using up all of my vacation days very quickly if I stay home.  And, I'm really afraid that me and the kids will be stuck at home tomorrow anyway due to not being able to get out of our driveway - we will see how it goes.  *sigh*

Anyway, you know what today is so run and check out the wonderfully talented bloggers over at Supah's place and read their Post Its and then link up yours so we can read them as well.  I always love reading everyone's notes. :o)

I just realized that my stickies were two different colors - I had this all prepared last night but had to finish it off today and personally, I'm just not up for going back now to change the colors - sorry - hope you don't mind! :o)  Thanks for stopping by and please say hello to let me know you were here.  I love new followers and love meeting new bloggy friends!  Be sure to check out all the other great post-its today and join in the fun!  Happy Tuesday!

Post it Note Tuesday - Sick Version

Slowly Getting Back to Normal

Hello my wonderful friends!  I hope you are all doing well.  I have missed you guys so much!  I have been so sick that I almost ended up in the emergency room on Saturday morning due to vomiting severely and running fever, etc.   However, I was able to wait until later in the morning and make it to the doctor's office.  I have a severe sinus infection with fluid on my ears and have been very very miserable to say the least.  I've not been able to breathe, had tons of coughing that had my chest burning and hurting due to all of the congestion in my lungs and it took a full 48 hours for my medicine to finally kick in.  I've just now started to feel better but decided to stay home one more full day to get even more rest before going back to work in order to avoid a relapse. 

On another note - I was SO happy and excited for the New Orleans Saints last night and their HUGE Superbowl win.  I was happy they made it to the Superbowl as that was the first time ever and was really hoping for a huge win and they pulled it off.  It was a great and exciting game with a lot of touch and go for sure.  Being from the South and loving the SEC, they did us VERY proud to say the least!  I couldn't be happier if it were the Arkansas Razorbacks in the championship - though I know that wouldn't happen since they are a college team and not a pro team.  But, nonetheless, we are extremely proud!  And I know that my friend, Summer over at B is for Brown is over the moon ecstatic since she is a true blooded Saint even though she has been transplanted to New York.  "WHO DAT"!

And some more exciting news - I was part of Summer's I Choo Choo Choose You Valentine's Swap and received my package on Saturday from the wonderful and lovely Alicia at It Ain't Easy Being Cheesy.  If you haven't been to her blog yet, please go check her out.  She is such a wonderfully funny person who makes me laugh every day when I read her blog.  Here is my bag of goodies that she sent me:  2 boxes of Chocolate covered raisins (my son ate one box already - he stole them when I wasn't looking - the little turd - HA), some really cute and neat wine tags for wine glasses, 2 adorable wine bottle toppers, a cute sweetie notepad, 2 tootise roll pops and an adorable and sweet card:

So, thank you, Alicia - I loved my gift and you are the BESTEST Valentine evah!  P.S  And I still love ya even if you are a COLTS fan! Sorry that your team lost last night, but SO happy that the Saints won! hee hee hee

Well, I guess that's all for today.  I will be getting a lot of rest today and taking my medicine like a good girl so that I can make it back to work tomorrow, and will be catching up on all of your blogs.  Thanks again for sticking with me and for all of your sweet comments last week and get well wishes.  You guys are the BEST and I love each and every one of you!   Have a great Monday!
