Things That Annoy Me Thursday

Happy Happy Thursday dollfaces! Hope your week has been more than spectacular! Wow, so hard to believe today is the last full day of December, isn't it?! It's just plain crazy to me! If you want to do your own Things That Annoy Me Thursday, feel free to play along.  You can check out Amber here and play along with us if you'd like. :)

(1)  To have an appointment and travel one way for an hour and a half in traffic, only to pull up in front of the office at the same time receiving a call that something has came up and they have to cancel your appointment - GRRRRRRR - I mean, REALLY!!!?? Ugh, needless to say, I was a little more than furious.

(2)  To be frustrated that I can't seem to recall dates anymore, like birthdays of friends and family, and need to keep a calendar handy in order to not forget - except...., that I still forgot my father-in-law's birthday last Tuesday and so his card and gift are going to be late...sigh

(3)  And.... I forgot my mother-in-law's birthday yesterday, so yes, her card and gift are going to be late as well....

(4)  To just despise people some times - do you know what I mean? I absolutely can not stand to work with people who are just plain out asses for no reason in particular except that they are just mean and nasty. The worst ones are especially when they are two faced - I mean, come on, really? Last time I checked we are ALL adults here and on the same team so what the hell man?! Grrrr

(5)  To hate that it's already the last day of December.  I mean, where has the year gone? I know they say the older you get, the faster the years fly, but still... this year flew by faster than I could even blink.

Anyway, there are my frustrations for the week.  Hope you'll come play along today. :)

I hope that whatever your plans are tonight for the big New Year's Eve ball drop, you will stay safe and take a taxi back home if necessary. As for me and mine, we are hanging out with our peeps across the street, shooting off fireworks and enjoying a few adult beverages and hoping that we actually make it to Midnight.  Usually, our New Year's Eve consists of us going to bed and watching movies and hubby being asleep and me watching the ball drop and then waking him up to give me a New Year's Day kiss before he goes back to snoring.  We lead the exciting life don't we?! LOL

Have an awesome day and enjoy the long weekend! Thanks for stopping by to say hello.

Cheers!

Lots of love and hugs,

Last minute hair ideas if you are this talented (which I am not-LOL)

And maybe a little drama for your nails as well

Then we have either office attire that will transfer straight to the evening party

Or you can go home and quickly change into one of these babies

And how cute are these for a photobooth idea

And what's a party without a cute sign (as I read it in Thurston Howell the 3rd's voice) LOL
(You know, the old man from Gilligan's Island?) Maybe I'm telling my age?! HA

And what's a good party without yummy appetizers? How cute is this cheese idea in mason jars

Other Appetizer ideas to go with the cheese, of course

and of course, what's a party without the cockails

or

And last, but not least - NYE Traditions to start of your own for you and your family

Hey, It's Okay Tuesday

Happy Tuesday sweetums! Hope you had a fabulous Monday!  Mine wasn't too bad and it went by SUPER fast thanks to meetings all day and other jobs I had to tackle.  That always makes me happy when a Monday goes by FAST! :)  Anywho..... on to Hey, It's Okay Tuesday:

-- To need a LOT of this today, thanks to trying to catch up on my sleep and still having to work this week after a super quick trip home for the holidays:

-- To still be drinking pumpkin spiced coffee - I'm trying to finish it up so it doesn't go to waste.

--  To be glad when I can play more with my new Insta Pot. I got it on sale through Amazon's deal of the day, the day after Thanksgiving for $87.50, along with a whole lot of other people - HA!  While I'm enjoying trying it out, it has been a huge pain in the butt to try and learn.  I tried out a pork tenderloin in it recently, however, and it turned out GREAT and was cooked in only an hour start to finish!! Win/Win  :)

-- To have enjoyed a compliment that an older gentleman in Hallmark gave me yesterday.  He literally grabbed me by the shoulders and turned me around and stared at me a second and when I said, "yes, sir?" he simply said, "I love your hair - it is so pretty and looks wonderful on you."  So I graciously thanked him and he said, "you know I'm flirting with you, right?" I laughed and said, "that's okay, I'll take all of the flirting I can get".  Ya'll, he was 90 years old and he was just too cute! His son and I got a big laugh out of him!

-- To be sad that the holidays are coming to an end.  The last 3 months of the year are my all-time favorite and I just love being in the spirit of it all.

-- To have hit up Michael's 70% off sale last night with my gift card in tow and scored a LOT of great purchases.

-- To be hitting up Hobby Lobby's 80% off sale this week sometime to see what may be left over.

-- To be THRILLED that the weather has finally gotten COLD here in Texas. I mean, come on - it IS December, right? 80 degree temps during the holidays does NOT make me happy one bit.

So what about you? What's okay with you today? Link up here to play along!  Thanks for stopping by to say hello and have a glorious day! :)

Christmas With The House Family

Happy Monday friends! Sheesh, I'm exhausted and not too happy that Monday is already here and so soon! Thankfully, it's another short week, but still - how is it that Monday's arrive so quickly?! Anyway, how was your Christmas? Awesome as ours, I hope.  We did a LOT of traveling from Texas to Missouri and Arkansas in between and then back to Texas, and we are completely exhausted beyond belief (that happens when you're our age, and traveling in a car I guess), but it was SO worth it!  We got a lot of family and friend time and we couldn't be happier!

Here are some highlights from our visit with our daughter and son-in-law and grandson at their house in Missouri:

Four Generations

Us and the kiddos

Like Santa, I'm Up All Night - I die everytime I see this picture of him and his little grin

Proud grandparents (ignore how tired we looked - we were exhausted)

My mother and her first great-grandchild (this was the first time she got to meet him)

The HOUSE Family

Everyone watching baby A sleep

Mother and the kiddos

Proud Papa and his grandson - I'm SO glad I was able to catch this when I did

My gifts from the kiddos - my name for the baby is Gigi and my daughter found this picture and couldn't wait to give it to me and sent me a picture of it way before Christmas - LOL and she knows I've been wanting a CICI beanie, and then she framed the hospital photo of us with the baby as well

I LOVE this picture of A and baby A - he loves his daddy

Baby snuggles, are the best snuggles

Our son-in-law made us an awesome lunch - ham, cream corn casserole and spicy sausage dressing

Me and my sweet precious baby grandson

Another favorite of mine that I was able to catch right at the exact moment

Me and my mini-me

Baby A looking at his mama

Down for the count

So there you go! I know, picture overload, but when you have such a cute subject like this, how can you blame me?! LOL  I don't know about you, but we were literally in the 80's all of the entire weekend no matter how far North we went and sweat the entire trip. Today I woke up to 40's and windy and COLD and I am LOVING it!!! Also, on a serious note before I get out of here, I hope that if you were in the any of the areas that were hit hard with tornadoes and other storms over the weekend that you and your family are safe and sound. Such a devastation to many and so sad.

Well, Happy Monday peeps and thanks so much for stopping by! Since I was traveling non-stop pretty much over the weekend, I didn't get a chance to catch up on your blogs but will be doing so later today. Have an awesome day lovies! :)

Merry Christmas Eve!

Oh my gracious, I am just in shock still that tomorrow is Christmas Day! I know they say the older you get, the quicker the years fly by, but ya'll, I'm only 47, but it sure seems like this year has flown by quicker than normal to me. I don't have a lot of time today, but I wanted to pop in and wish you all a very wonderful and Merry Christmas!  In less than 7 hours we are on our way to see all of these bright and beautiful faces:

Tonight we drive to Hot Springs, Arkansas to spend Christmas Eve with my mommy:

Christmas Day we drive (with my mom) to Missouri to see these three babies:

Then Saturday morning we drive from Hot Springs to Little Rock to see this handsome guy, my brother-in-law:

Then Saturday afternoon early we drive from Little Rock to Conway to see this wonderful lady - my mother-in-law to have lunch with her:

I am very blessed to have such wonderful family and in-laws and can't wait to see them all.  We live too far away from each other to visit on a regular basis, and this will be the first time in 10 years that we've seen my mom on Christmas Day, so I'm even MORE excited and happy!  Now my friends, I'm off to get ready for work and out the door driving out of State right at noon, if not sooner.  I hope you all have a very wonderful and blessed Merry Christmas and I will see you next week!  Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day! :)

Lots of love and hugs,
