Happy Monday!

Hello my fellow bloggers.  Hope you all had a wonderful and thankful Thanksgiving holiday weekend.  Ours was really nice and I desperately needed the break.  Though, unfortunately, I have still been under the weather so it made for a somewhat unproductive weekend.  Don't get me wrong - I did manage to get all of my Christmas shopping complete other than my 3 bosses and my in-laws.  And, yesterday I did manage to get my Christmas cards finished and my tree decorated - sooo.. at least I did accomplish something.  I am feeling much better than I had been all weekend, so that is a good start to this week. :o)

How was your holiday weekend?  Did you get any great deals on Black Friday? Did you get your tree and other Christmas decorations up and finished?  I am so far behind again this year, that it's not even funny.  And what's bad is the fact that my husband has even noticed - you KNOW it's bad when the hubster is telling you how far behind on all of your Christmas stuff you are! LOL

Because I am running late this morning (as usual - it seems to be who I am lately), I don't have time to post pictures from the weekend, so I hope to do that tomorrow instead.   I can't wait to hear all about your weekend and see your pictures from your Thanksgiving celebrations.  I hope all of you have a wonderful day today.  Only 25 days until this man arrives:

Happy Monday my friends!  Make it a great day!

Hugs, Trac~ :o)

Happy Thanksgiving and Under the Weather

Good morning, everyone! I just wanted to wish all of you a very wonderful and Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow.  This has been me the last couple of days:

So I'm really sorry I've not been commenting or even had a post yesterday due to not feeling so good.  The really bad thing is that this is not the right time of year to be feeling under the weather.  On another note though - ironically, this sign is posted in our subway trains everywhere - LOL - oh well, like my dad always said - you gotta do what you gotta do - and in my case, that is go to work and finish out my week! *sigh*

On another note - I am so excited to be watching this tomorrow:

from the comfort of my own living room, of course.  Although, I WANT to go and see it in person one year and I hope to be able to do just that at least once before we leave the Northeast.  I will also be doing a lot of cooking of this:

So, here is wishing you and your family a wonderful and thankful Happy Thanksgiving.  Are you planning to be one of those shoppers out for Black Friday early morning? The hubster and I are going out for a short time and then coming back and decorating the Christmas tree with the kiddos and just relaxing and watching this on tv:

And this is for my friend Summer at B is for Brown - my Hogs are going to kick your Tiger's butts girlfriend! LOL  Seriously, you know I love you much and you know as well as I do that we never know the outcome of these two teams each year the day after Thanksgiving - it's always a toss up - HA!  But on another note - I am sending you and Mr. Brown a huge hug and lots of thoughts and prayers that those 3 embabies that are now in your womb will develop and grow in the next 9 months and make you the incredible mommy that I KNOW you are going to be - I love you lady and can't wait until the day you become what you've always been meant to be - a mom!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you have a wonderful and blessed holiday and weekend!

Lots of love to you all,
Trac~ :o) xoxoxo

All About MEme Monday

It's that time again - time for Supah's and MommyBrain's All About MEme Monday and the official kick-off of the Holiday Season - so come and join in and tell us what you are Thankful for!

Take a few minutes to think about the blessings in your life ... the things that you are thankful for and then tell us your TOP FOUR and go back and link up to Supah's and Mommy Brain's website and play along.

MY TOP FOUR

1.  My wondermous hubster, Steven - though he is a royal PIA most days - he is the love of my life and I could never live without him nor would I be where I am today without him.  I am the person I am today because of him.

2.  My 2 beautiful children - even though they are TEENAGERS and are ALWAYS PIA's - I totally heart them and would never want to know a life that didn't include those two little monsters - they are my little rays of sunshine on their "good" days and even on their "bad" days.

3.  My mom, dad, sisters and brother - I miss them all terribly and wish I were closer to home to spend more time with them - maybe one day we will be home again for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas - if nothing else but just for a weekend.  That would be one of the best gifts I could ever receive.

4.  My extended family and friends including all of my new blogarino friends that I have met here through the blog world.  I love each and every one of you and am so happy and thankful that you are all in my life in some form or another.

So.... what are you thankful for?  I hope that whatever it is that you all have a wonderful and blessed short work week and great Thanksgiving!

Big hugs,

Happy Friday and Sweet 16!

YAY! We finally made it!  I hope that all of you have a wonderful and blessed weekend.  What are your plans for the weekend? Anything fun and exciting?

Tomorrow (Saturday, November 21st) is a very special day in the Anderson household and that's because of this sweet baby girl right here:

That, my friends, is my beautiful daughter, Alliye (pronounced Ali) and she is turning SWEET 16 tomorrow. Wow - talk about time flying by fast - I just don't know where these last 16 years have gone.  I can't believe that she is a Sophomore in high school already, has already gotten her Senior class ring, been a part of the high school volleyball team, and just turning into a pretty awesome well rounded young lady in general.

Alliye, my dear sweet darling little girl.  You are no longer a baby - you have become a young woman whom I truly love and cherish and can't imagine my life without.  I know you say I am too protective my sweet love, but you will never understand until you become a mom yourself in the distant (very distant) future.  It is my job to be protective of you and not let you just have complete and total freedom.  This world is a very dangerous place now and I know you think you are completely safe from all of the dangers and that you know all about the world - but sweetie pie, you are just beginning to learn and still have a very long way to go when it comes to figuring out how this world really is.  I am very very proud of you and love you from the pure depths of my soul.  I am so happy God chose to bless me with you as my beautiful little girl.  I love that you and I enjoy shopping together and getting our nails done and having girl talk and I will greatly miss that and you when you are completely grown and on your own.  So please, don't be in a rush to grow up just yet - please let me hold on tight just a little longer.  You may think you are already to the "grown" stage, and don't think you really need me but what you don't understand sweet baby is that it is I who needs YOU!

I love you my beautiful little girl and I am so proud to call you my daughter and can't wait for the many long years that we can call each other friends too.

Love,
Mom

Thanksgiving Thursday - Recipe Time!

Good morning and Happy Thursday everyone!  You know what that means - it's that time again - yep you guessed it - Thanksgiving Recipe time! :o)  I have been searching out a Pecan Pie recipe as I really wanted to cook one this year for the first time ever - however, apparently all I needed to do was look in my own recipe box in my cabinet (okay one of three recipe boxes) and I would find the one I wanted to try.  You see, I have a very special recipe box that I have had now going on 6 years - it is from my favorite grandmother who passed away almost 6 years ago and it has her handwritten recipes including the "smell" from her house still on the cards and I.L.OVE.IT.  It really means a lot to me to have that of hers.  So...I won't make you wait any longer - here is her recipe that I plan to try on my family for Thanksgiving this year and I hope you enjoy it just as much! :o)

Pecan Pie
Ingredients
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1 cup Karo Syrup dark
1 cup Karo Syrup light
1 cup Sugar
2 Tbs. Butter melted
1 Tbs. Vanilla
1 1/2 cups Pecans

Directions
Mix all together and place in pie shell.  Bake in oven on 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes.

That's all there is to it (according to the recipe card anyway - ha!)

On another note - I received a very special award today from a wonderful follower friend and I am so honored that she thought of me.  It is the

So thank you Corrie!  If ya'll get the chance to stop by and say hi to her - please do - she is a real sweetie pie who has a very cute and blog about her family! :o)  Since I am so running late this morning, I will pass the awards on to others soon - but I have to go get ready now so I don't miss my bus! HA!  Have a great day my wonderful Blogarino friends!  We are so close to Friday that I can taste it!

Big hugs,

Happy Hump Day!

Happy Wednesday my friends! Sorry that this isn't going to be one of those Wordless Wednesday days but see this little guy right here - he is about to drive me NUTS lately and I am at my wits end with the little buggar!

He is SO CUTE but SO annoying (as are MOST men - right ladies - :o)) - (sorry Steven - nothing personal against you friend - LOL) - anyway, this little turkey butt will NOT stay out from under my feet in the mornings - we have this ritual - literally that when I come down and fix my cup of coffee and he has been taken out and fed and is running around the kitchen and the office playing with his toy and such - the minute I move he lays his ENTIRE HEAVY BODY at my feet and starts pushing against me because he wants me to rub his belly with my FEET! (Steven I thought of you and your love of feet just now as I was typing this - LOL) Anyway, it.drives.me.NUTS! He's SO heavy that he even knocked me down this morning onto the floor when he was trying to get as close to me as feasibly possible.  Anyway  he must know I'm talking about him as he keeps putting his little head on the keyboard pushing my hand away - ha ha!

Oh well.  Anyway, I hope you all have a WONDERFUL and GLORIOUS Wednesday - we are on the downhill side and next week is a short week! YAY!

Big hugs,
Trac~ :o)
