Arkansas Trip - Pictures Finally

Happy Monday my peeps! How are you? How was your weekend? Do anything fun and exciting?  On Saturday me and the hubster went to see the movie, "Country Strong" with Gweneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw.  The movie ended up being quite sad and depressing but the acting by everyone involved along with the music was outstanding!  Have you seen the movie yet?  If so, I would LOVE to hear your take on it.

Yesterday, I spent a total of 7 hours - YES 7 HOURS working on Saturday in my daughter's room trying to get it cleaned up and cleaned out and things thrown away.  She had collected so much stuff over the last 5 years that it was absurd and I'm not even kidding.  She had stuff stuck in all kinds of nooks and crannies and purses and jewelry boxes and other storage boxes, etc.... I just couldn't believe all of the crap she had for us to get rid of.  Needless to say, we did manage to get all of her room completely cleaned and things hung up - now I just have to paint her room and also redo her chest of drawers that my husband got for FREE on the side of the road and she will be good to go.  We are re-doing her room in a Broadway/New York theme and it will be so cute once it's complete.

Anyway, I can't wait to see how you spent your weekend and catch up with your blogs.  But as promised, here are a few pictures from my trip back home to Arkansas a couple of weeks ago:

Leaving New Jersey:
 Chicago O'Hare
De-Icing the Plane in Chicago (Yeah, I wasn't too thrilled to see that)
 Me and my daddy
Me and my Uncle Lloyd at my mama's house:
Me and my best friends from back home - this is me and Vic:
 Me and Karen:
Me, Jules and Paula cheering to our 40th birthdays that were 3 years ago - HA
And these are my bestest ever friends in the world - my mommy and sister: (this was the night before I was leaving and I had been crying)
 Beautiful sky looking out the window on my way back to Newark;
My sister has the other pictures on her camera from our day at the Racetrack so I will show you those another time.

Well, thanks for stopping by to say hello and letting me know you were here.  I hope you have a great Monday and had an even better weekend!

Lots of love and hugs,

Driving Miss Daisy - Special Broadway Performance - Feb. 7th at 8 p.m.

Happy TGIF is all I can say! This has been a week from heck and I for one am so happy it's over. Between all of the snow we've gotten among other things this week it has just been crazy!!!  I hope that all of you have had a better week and are looking forward to another great weekend ahead. Which brings me to my next topic:

Ilana from American Pop contacted me a few days ago and asked if I would like to share with my readers the information for a special performance that is playing on Broadway February 7th at 8pm to benefit the Actors Fund.  Of course, I said YES - especially when I found out what it was!  It is "Driving Miss Daisy" and features the wonderful and talented James Earl Jones, Vanessa Redgrave and Boyd Gaines.  (I personally LOVE LOVE LOVE James Earl Jones - I think he is one extremely talented man who has given so much to his "art")  "Driving Miss Daisy tells the affecting story of the decades-long relationship between a stubborn Southern matriarch and her compassionate chauffeur." Variety said, "Redgrave and Jones are masters of their craft," and The New York Post called it, "a driving force of nature."

This special showing is being held one night only and is playing at the Golden Theatre located at 252 West 45th Street in New York City.  The seat prices range from  $225 for the Premium seats and $66.50 - $126.50 for regular seating.  Also, it was just announced that this show is being dedicated to Vanessa Redgrave’s siblings, Lynn and Corin Redgrave who died last year.   "Both Lynn and Corin were staunch and gracious supporters of The Actors Fund as well as advocates for everyone dedicated to performing arts and entertainment.  Benefits from this February 7th show will go to support The Actors Fund and its longstanding commitment to help performers and those behind-the-scenes across the nation."

You can go here to read all of the press release and learn more about this very special showing on February 7th and here to purchase tickets today.

I personally plan to try and make this special showing or at least one of the other showings if possible.  This is one of my favorites and I would love nothing more than to see James Earl Jones in person!  Thank you, Ilana for bringing this to my attention and allowing me to share it with my readers.  I love spreading the word about exciting shows like this!

Well lovlies, thanks for stopping by to say hello and have a wonderfully blessed day! I am on my way to get ready for work and hoping that the roads aren't all covered in ice.  Have a great day and a wonderful weekend and please let me know you stopped by!

Lots of love and hugs,

Weight Watchers Wednesday

Happy Hump Day my friends! Sorry this post is late today but it has been one of those days needless to say and it started this morning with the snow starting to fall. Any who I made it to work at 9 a.m. Only to be told to come back home because things were getting bad. Well the earliest I could catch the next bus out was noon so I left the office at 11:15 and caught the bus home expecting at least a 3 hour trip home but was pleasantly surprised at only an hour and a half so that was much better. For the last 2 hours I have been laying my butt in the bed watching it snow out my bedroom window while watching HGTV and playing on my iPad and eating carrots and bananas - I know a weird combination huh?! LOL

Anyway in the last 2 weeks while on vacation and then trying to get back into my routine I managed to gain 4 lbs! Ack! So I started all over again as of Monday (2 days ago) and have actually lost 2.9 lbs. in these last 3 days. I like to see those kind of numbers but I know it won't be a weekly thing. However, since I don't have anymore vacations or getaways planned anytime soon, I think it will be much easier to stay on track. And the office is holding it's annual lose it to win it contest too for the next 12 weeks and that will help keep me accountable as well.

Okay I guess that's all for now as I am going to watch the news and weather to determine what my day will consist of tomorrow and whether I am going to the office tomorrow or not. Have a great night my friends and thanks for stopping by to say hello! :o)

Post It Note Tuesday - The Bitter Cold Truth

Happy Tuesday my peeps and yes, I know, I've been lagging lately in the post department and I am so sorry - will you ever forgive me?????  It's just since returning from my trip, my days and nights have been scattered and crazy and I've been trying to play catch up.  However, since it's been forever since I've gotten to play along with the Post It Note Tuesday saga over at That One Mom's, I decided today was the perfect day to jump back in - come join me, won't you?!

AMC Dine In Theatres

Happy Sunday guys and dolls - how are you?  Sorry I've been MIA the last few days but I've been trying to catch up on my sleep along with chores around the house since I've been home from my trip.  It's always nice to get away but always nicer to come back home - however, the unpacking and re-organizing can be a real chore.  *sigh*

Anyway, I was recently contacted by Ilana from American Pop Digital asking if I would like to give my readers a coupon for a free dessert for the AMC Dine in Theatres and of course I said YES! :)  I'm always happy to pass along freebies and good information to my wonderful readers.  So... without further adieu - if you'd like to have a coupon for a free dessert when you visit any of the following AMC Dine In Theatres please feel free to click on the picture/coupon listed below (save it to your computer and print it out) and help yourself!  *please note* This coupon is only good at the participating theaters:  AMC Bridgewater Commons 7, Essex Green 9, or Menlo Park in New Jersey.

Present this coupon at AMC Bridgewater Commons 7, Essex Green 9, or Menlo Park 12 between now and March 2011 to receive your free dessert when you purchase an entrée.

Have you ever been to a Dine In Movie Theatre before?  I never have, nor did I know there was such a thing - but you can bet I will be checking it out very soon, that's for sure - especially since Illana was so gracious to give me and all of you a coupon for a free dessert - what can be better than that?! :)

Well have a great rest of the night my friends and thanks so much for stopping by to say hello!

Lots of love and hugs,
