What are your weekend plans? Anything special going on? Hubby and I are actually going to get away for a 3 day weekend and I can't wait! It will be nice to get out of town for a short time.  We have many home projects that need to be done, but we decided to do it another day.  LOL Thanks to my husband's schedule and my super busy work schedule we rarely get any time together, so this will be a nice little getaway together. :)

Friday Favorites - TV Shows

Good morning and happy T*G*I*F my friends! We've had examiners this week at the Bank and it has been a week from you know what!  Between that and being sick with Vertigo for a couple of days in a row, I, for one, am SO happy that it's finally the weekend and can't wait to relax.  As you know, one of my favorite bloggers, Becky, from The Java Mama and her friend, Kim, from Faith, Grace & Giggles have their Friday Favorites Linky Party and I am going to be playing along each week and I hope you'll come join in the fun - every week has a different topic.  This week's topic is TV Shows.

My husband and I are COMPLETE TV and Movie Junkies.  This week has finally started the Fall lineup and we're SO excited!  Here are our favorites:

1.  Scandal - OMG can you say HOOOOTTTTT??!! These two have some of the BEST chemistry I've ever seen in my life! All I can say is, Tony Goldwyn is HOT!!! OMG WOW hubba hubba!!! Is it just me or do you think he's HOT and SEXY too?  I don't know why, but I love older men and some of them with gray hair - OH MY WORD - they are just sexy to me...

2.  The Blacklist - can you say RED? We LOVE RED!! He and his partner onscreen are fabulous together but he's always been one of my favorites in ever show he's ever been in and I LOVE him!

3.  Grey's Anatomy - Dr. McDreamy - ohhh how I miss seeing his handsome self on this show!  I still can't believe they killed him off! He's another HOTTIE who happened to have that salt and pepper look going for him and those eyes - oh my word - those eyes.....

 4.  Nashville - need I say more? I love this entire cast. I don't think they could have chosen a better cast of people together for this show. And the 2 young sisters on there are so talented and sing so wonderfully.  I never knew they were sisters in real life until recently.

5.  Chicago Fire and Chicago PD - I almost forgot about these two shows.  They too, are some of our faves and the guys aren't too hard on the eyes, if you know what I mean - hubba hubba :)

6.  Agents of Shield - I completely forgot about this one until a blogger reminded me when she said how much she loves this show.  It too is a good one, though not one of my faves, it is definitely one of my husband's favorites for sure.

7.  Below Deck - the people who are the millionaire clients and come on this yacht are absolute FRUITCAKES! And even some of the staff are FRUITCAKES as well - but it's a hilarious show nonetheless.  Have you watched it yet? You should look it up.  I think it's on the Bravo Channel on Dish but not 100% sure.  I do know it airs on Tuesday nights, however.

8.  Crisley Knows Best - I absolutely ADORE him and think he is freaking HILARIOUS to say the least! If you've never seen this show, you MUST go and watch it STAT!!! He tries to run his house with an iron fist, and wants things done his way. He is very anal and very specific about everything in his world.  But one of the main things I absolutely LOVE about him is that he is never afraid to admit when he's wrong about something, nor is he afraid to give a big bear hug to his kids and he tells everyone, including his personal assistant, that he loves them all of the time.  He is firm, but fair with his kids.  Although, I do not like the way that the kids talk to him and his wife at times, and blatantly do what he tells them NOT to do, and just takes the punishment afterwards - you know the old don't ask for permission, ask for forgiveness routine, I do really enjoy the show and think it's hilarious and one you would enjoy. This is also another Tuesday lineup, but I don't know what channel it's on offhand either.

So what about you? What are your favorite tv shows? And on another subject, what are your weekend plans? Anything fun and exciting?  Hubby and I are going to San Antonio on Saturday for the day to do some shopping and go to the Riverwalk.  Depending on how late it gets, depends on if we stay the night or not.  Plus our Hogs are playing Texas A&M on tv later that night at 7:00.  I don't know if we will watch or not this week, it will depend on how much fun we are having otherwise I guess. :)

Happy TGIF my peeps!  I don't know about ya'll, but man am I glad it is FINALLY FRIDAY!! Sheesh, talk about a longggg week - it has been nuts to say the least! I work in the banking business now and we have booked more loans this week at one time than we have in the 10 months I have been working there.  I am pooped for sure and ready for a break!  This is how NUTS it has been lately at work and home:

So do you have any big weekend plans?  Maybe you have small children who are starting back to school on Monday or maybe started today or earlier this week?  Our school here isn't starting back until the 24th, which seems really late to me.  Oh well, my children are grown and one is in college and the other is married, pregnant and works full time.  

That's right... I'm going to be a grandmother!!!!  My grandson is due in November around Thanksgiving this year and I can NOT wait.  Talk about a wonderful blessing.  With any luck, he will be born on his mommy's birthday.  She was also a born around Thanksgiving baby too.  Here is a picture of my sweet girl and her baby boy to be:

Isn't she beautiful!? Of course, I could just be biased, but I still think she makes a beautiful mommy to be and not just because she's my baby. :)  I can't wait to update you as the next few months transpire.  She just got her baby bed up a few days ago in their room (oh.... I forgot to mention she and her husband are currently staying with us for a while here in Texas too - WOO HOO - SO happy!!) and she is even more excited now that the baby bed is up and things are starting to come together.

Sorry my friends, I am still here - just been NUTS at work lately to say the least.  That, and I got severely sick for almost a week with major Vertigo AND then had to get my daughter married off - ALL in the same week - talk about a tough one!  Either way, I hope all is well with all of you and I will have some beautiful photos from my daughter's wedding to share soon.

TGIF and Girls Weekend Getaway

Happy TGIF guys and dolls!  How the heck are ya?  Great, I hope!  Yeah, yeah, I know, I know - it's been over a week since my last post but what can I say - life has had it's ups and downs lately and blogging was the last thing on my mind, if you know what I mean.  Anyway, I wanted to stop by for a quick hello and see how things are going with all of you peeps!  Any weekend plans?  My kids both have their homecoming dance tonight at the high school and that's about it with them for now.

I am going away with some girlfriends for a girls weekend and simply CAN.NOT.WAIT!!! WOOT WOOT!!!!  After the last few months I've had, this couldn't come at a better time!  I hope to have a lot of pictures for you on Monday from my trip along with pictures of my kid's homecoming dance.  I am off to catch up on your blogs now and can't wait to see what you've been up to in my absence.  Have a lovely day and a glorious weekend my friends and thanks for stopping by to say hello!

Taking Time to Stop and Smell the Roses

Happy Happy Friday my friends!  This has been a long week and a week from hell and one that almost did me in.  But, I decided yesterday that I was going to get back to living my life instead of worrying about all of this nonsense stuff that has been happening in my life for the last 3 months.  So today, I am here "smelling the roses".  The pictures below are of roses in my "rose garden" that my husband made me many years ago.  I came home on Wednesday night to this:

which is almost 14 years! :)

He tells everyone he made this for me so that when he's in the doghouse he can just go right out and pick me flowers and bring them in to try and smooth things over.  LOL  Truth be known, he is the one with the green thumb in the family - I, personally, have a black thumb when it comes to growing things like plants! HA!

So... what's on your agenda this weekend?  Anything fun and exciting by chance?  I am going to dinner with my husband tonight and then tomorrow I am getting together with one of my best friends that I've not seen once since we've moved home and we are going to hang out and have lunch and just visit.  We were going to go hiking but it's supposed to storm instead so I think we are just doing lunch this time around.  The weather is almost perfect here for hiking and I am looking forward to a lot of those trips! :)  Sunday will probably be just a catch up kind of a day around the house - laundry, cooking, etc....

Hello my friends and welcome to Friday and the weekend!  WOO HOO!!! How are you? How has your "short" week been?  Great, I hope!  It has flown by for me and I'm SO glad.  It's been another really rough week and I'm just about at my wits end with things.  I have been taking care of others for so long now and not being appreciated, that I have decided it's time to start taking care of ME, MYSELF and I for a change. 

On Monday, I started my new healthy lifestyle and must say that I am doing fairly well.  I'm eating healthy every day for the most part and even more than the most part.  I did eat 2 tiny slices of a small frozen pizza tonight but I was literally starving to death!  Grapes, Yogurt, Cheddar Cheese, Peanut Butter Toast, Sweet Potatoes and Carrot Sticks will only go so far - LOL

Anyway, I am on the hunt for some great healthy and easy recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner and would love to have you pass any along that you use and enjoy. 

So what's on your weekend agendas?  My mom and sister are coming to the house and we are all going to work on the cheese dip competition stuff - I can't believe how much work is really going to go into this competition but it is going to be a lot of fun, that's for sure.  And, the fact that they are doing it with me is going to make it even more fun!  I can't wait!  I promise that once the competition is completely over, I will post the recipe for you to enjoy as well.

My brain is completely fried this morning, and I'm totally exhausted - but I wanted to stop by and say hi and wish you all a very happy Friday and a wonderful and blessed weekend.  Anything fun and exciting on your weekend agendas?  We are getting another dog (a male golden) on Saturday to go along with our female golden (both English Creams) and will breed them when the time is right.  We are also going to my dad's this weekend because we've not seen him at all in at least a year.  Other than that, it's the usual - work around the house, grocery shopping, cooking, etc... Oh - and hopefully, hanging out relaxing in our new hot tub that we just bought - the hubster has wired it up and it's all ready to go - we just need to fill it up and make sure it's heating well.   

I hope to catch up with you all again soon - work has been NUTS this week to say the least so I've had no time to play on blogs or facebook, etc. lately.

Happy TGIF!!

Happy Friday my friends!  I don't know about you, but whew - we finally made it to the weekend - I am SOOOO tired.  The rain storm that rolled through our town yesterday morning at 2:45 woke me up and I tossed and turned until 4 and then finally got out of bed.  So as you can imagine, I slept wonderful last night and slept hard.  The only downfall to that is that now I'm even MORE exhausted due to trying play catch up on my sleep.  I stopped for coffee this morning and had 4 shots of espresso in my coffee and it has done NOTHING to help wake me up - 4 shots and NUTTIN??? SERIOUSLY???  *sigh*  Oh well.

Today at lunch I am going to meet up with a classmate from high school that I've not seen in TWENTY-FIVE years - yep you read that right - 25 years!  We are actually having our 25 year reunion next month - WOW - I just can't get over how fast time has flown by - sheesh!  Really, really makes me feel old! HA!  Then after that me and the family will be headed to Razorback Country a/k/a Fayetteville to hang out with family and friends.  If any of you are in town and available let me know  - I'd love to meet up with you and say hi or something! :)

I tried uploading a video today of my grandfather that I went to see a few weeks back, singing his famous song but couldn't get the darn thing to work.  If anyone knows HOW to get that to upload for me that would be great - also, I want to switch everything over to my other blog but not sure how to do that - do any of you know the procedure so that I don't lose everything here from the last 2 years?

Thank you for the wonderfully sweet and thoughtful comments you left for me yesterday.  You don't know how much I appreciate all of you.  I know this is something that "shall too pass" eventually but going through it right now makes life pretty rough - that's for sure.  But I am forever grateful for your love and support you've shown me and promise to be back to myself soon (I hope).

Anyway - tomorrow I am going to see this man:

He is my last remaining grandparent and he is in an assisted living home in Jonesboro.  He also has Alzheimers and probably will not remember me this year.  This picture was taken last April when we went home for the kid's spring break.  Out of me, the kids and my husband, it was only me he remembered then.  I'm very sad to go see him.  Don't get me wrong - I WANT to see him - but the fact that he may not remember me really makes me extremely sad and will just add to the stress I'm already under and the sadness.  But, due to his Alzheimers we don't know how long he has and I want to see him every chance I can get.  He lives 3 hours away from where we are.  He scared my aunt (his daughter) to death last week when he wandered out of the home and she found him 5 blocks away and he had no idea where he was or what he was doing.  I was furious because it is the home's responsibility to make sure things like THAT don't happen! UGH!

Happy Friday my friends and welcome to the weekend!  What's on your weekend agenda?  Anything fun and exciting?  My weekend is going to consist of hopefully, getting the rest of my boxes all unpacked and put away, my work clothes for all next week ironed up and ready to go and then my sister and niece coming to Conway to see my other niece who lives here too and hanging out with me!!! We will be doing some swimming and making a trip to Hobby Lobby (my all time favorite store evah) and we may be in there looking for 2 hours - and that will be jest fine with us! hee hee hee

My oldest niece who lives here also has a nice pool at her apartment so we may go spend some time there as well.  Other than that - it's pretty much it - nothing too exciting - but still VERY relaxing! :)
