Happy Thursday AND another great award! :o)

Happy Thursday my friends.  How was your Cinco De Mayo?  Mine was good - I went to my Jazzercise class and we danced our routines to Latin music and it was SO MUCH FUN! However, since I am so un-coordinated I had a really HARD time keeping up but had fun trying - and naturally, I stayed at the BACK of the class so as not to embarrass myself as much - HA!

Anyway, the lovely Tracy over at Pen and Paper graced me with yet another lovely award for which I am very grateful as I always love receiving and giving awards in return! So... thank you SO much Tracy! :o)

The procedure, as Tracy explains is as follows:

1. Get really excited that you got the coolest award EVER!  (*DONE*)

2. Choose ONE of the following options of accepting the OMB award:

(a) Get really drunk and blog for 15 minutes straight, or for as long as you can focus.

(b) Write about your most embarrassing moment.

(c) Write a "Soundtrack of your childhood" post.

(d) Make your next blog a 'vlog'/video blog. Basically, you're talking to the camera about whatever.

(e) Take a picture of yourself first thing in the morning, before you do anything else (hair, make up, etc)and post it.

3. Pass the award on to at least three, but preferably more, awesome bloggers. Don't forget to tell them.

Well.... since I have to go to work today and don't like the feeling of being "drunk" - I will skip that one.  I have no idea of any "soundtrack" of my childhood.  I don't have a clue how to do a vlog, so I guess I will skip these two as well.  And I never have time in the morning to take a picture of myself much less anything else, so I will skip this one also.

So... that leaves me the one about the most embarrassing moment.  Since I can't recall anything that I've done embarrassing really (but trust me, there are TONS of things, I'm sure) I will just go with the one embarrassing thing that has happened yesterday:

I have been a "bloggy friend" of my friend, Tracy, over at Pen and Paper who graced me with this latest award for a while now, but it wasn't until I received this award that I realized that Tracy's name was actually Tracy - just like mine and is even spelled the same.  LOL  Talk about embarrassing!  The one thing my boss of 7 years said to me always was make sure I got everyone's names right all of the time and here I go and mess this one up.  So.... my dear friend, Tracy, I'm SO SORRY that I never paid enough attention to get your name right from the beginning.  I do hope you will forgive me and still be my bloggy friend.  (*I'm begging for forgiveness here*) :o)  Also, regarding wishing you had a middle name and asking for suggestions - you can always go with the one my mother gave me - Renee - Just a thought! :o)

Now, I pass this wonderful award on to these great blogger friends:

1.  Betty over at Cut and Dry
2.  Steven over at No Excuse, No Explanation
3.  Whispering Writer over at Airing My Dirty Laundry One Sock at a Time
4.  MaeRae over at In and Out of the Bubble
5.  Corrie over at My Pickle Talks Autism

These lovely people have wonderful blogs and are some of my favorite daily reads.  Please be sure and check them out - I promise you won't be disappointed! :o)

I hope that you all have a wonderful and blessed day today and thanks for stopping by!  Please leave me a comment so that I know you were here and can re-visit your blog and return the love as well.  I know I've not been able to catch up on your blogs lately but I hope to do so this weekend.

Lots of love and hugs,

Happy Hump Day and Cinco De Mayo (Recipes included)

First off, I just wanted to say thank you all SO MUCH for the wonderful birthday wishes you left for me yesterday.  I had an awesome birthday and have such awesome bloggy friends!  You guys are the BESTEST evah! :o)

In honor of Cinco De Mayo - I thought I would include some yummy recipes for your enjoyment today:

 Guacamole:
Ingredients
2 avocados
1/2 lemon, juiced
2 tablespoons chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions
Cut the avocados into halves. Remove the seeds, and scoop out the pulp into a small bowl. Use a fork to mash the avocado. Stir in lemon juice, onion, salt, and olive oil. Cover the bowl, and refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.

(From their website):  "The real trick to great guacamole is to use good avocados. Make sure your avocados are ripe and of the Haas variety! Serve this dip with corn chips, or an array of fresh vegetables."

Then, of course - if you're like me - you'll want to serve it with one (or several) of these:

Frozen Margaritas:
Ingredients
1 (6 ounce) can frozen limeade concentrate
6 fluid ounces tequila
2 fluid ounces triple sec

Directions
Fill blender with crushed ice. Pour in limeade concentrate, tequila and triple sec. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.

or maybe some of these (my new favorite drink):

Ingredients
2 leaves fresh mint
1 tablespoon simple syrup
2 cubes ice
1 1/4 fluid ounces rum
1 fluid ounce carbonated water
1 sprig fresh mint

Directions
In a cocktail glass, muddle (crush) mint leaves with simple syrup. Add ice and rum. Top with carbonated water. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.

Whatever is on your agenda today, I hope that you have a wonderul day and enjoy your Cinco De Mayo with recipes for tonights dinner! :o)  Have a wonderful day my peeps!

Lots of love and hugs,

They Say It's My Birthday

Happy Tuesday my peeps! How are you today?  I am doing pretty good I guess for turning the BIG 42 today! I'm alive to see another day, I have a wonderful family, a great job, wonderful friends, and great blog friends like you, so I'd say that I'm doing pretty darn awesome - don't you agree?! :o)

Due to my husband's work schedule this week we celebrated my birthday early over the weekend.  All I can say is that I am one spoiled and pampered girl and had a great birthday from my family.  Here are my wonderful gifts and cards that I received from my husband and kiddos:

The hubster got me some "soft" socks, a NY long sleeve t-shirt and my jazzercise class: And I forgot to include the BEAUTIFUL birthday card he gave me but will show that to you another time soon:
And this BEAUTIFUL cake from Costco that had vanilla mousse in it - OMG it was SO YUMMY!
I have no idea why it looks like I have a red feather here in my hair but it must be from the flash or sumpin:
This is the package my daughter put together for the gift she made for me - isn't it purty!
My card that was wrapped like a "present" that she made:
The inside of my sweet sweet card:
The candle holder that she made me:
My birthday message from the family:
Please excuse the next 2 photos as I am just keeping it real ya'll - I didn't feel like putting on makeup that day:  Also, ignore the background - I have YET to put away the Spring/Easter stuff but will be doing so this weekend as I've finally made more stuff to go on my table and such:
Me and the hubster - again, ignore the background - it still has the Spring/Easter stuff in it as well:
Well, there ya go! Thanks for stopping by to say hello and I hope that you all have a wonderful and blessed day today.  On another note - for those of you who are my newest followers - WELCOME! I promise I will be a follower of yours as well and will get to your pages soon.  I've just not been able to do so yet, but have NOT forgotten you - PROMISE! I LURVE getting new followers and meeting new peeps and will always return the love! Have a great day my friends!

Lots of love and hugs,

Monday Minute and Weekend Recap

Happy Monday everyone! How are you?  How was your weekend?  Great, I hope!  We had THE.MOST. GORGEOUS weather here from Friday thru Sunday that I enjoyed every minute of it down to the last second of daylight last night! Friday night, we just hung out for a while and then on Saturday I got up early and went to my first Jazzercise class and had a lot of fun, though I woke up incredibly sore yesterday - mainly in my shoulders and arms from the weights exercise portion of the class.   I also ran errands and finished up the Mother's Day gifts I made for my mom and my mother-in-law.  They both turned out really cute, if I do say so myself! HA!  I will show you pictures once they have gotten and opened their gifts because I'm not sure if they ever come across my little ole blog to read and I don't want to spoil their surprise! :o)

Then yesterday the husby and I had to go to Connecticut to check on our rent house - ugh - it was a long drive (2.5 hours one way) and all looked great - the guy is really doing a great job of taking care of the house - now if he can just get back on track with his rent then we'll be in good shape.  He's been there for over a year now and has always done a great job paying but he's been having a little problem lately and plus he's had to take on a 2nd job and a roommate - hopefully, this will help get things back on track though.  After we got home, my husby and kiddos surprised me with a beautiful birthday cake and some nice little gifts.  Since tomorrow is my actual birthday then I will show you the pictures of my cards and gifts at that time.  :o)

Now, today I decided to play along with Momma's Pixie Dreams for the Monday Minute.  When you have time be sure to go check out her blog - it's adorable! :o)

How much would you have to be paid to eat a human cadaver’s finger? They could NEVER pay me enough to do that - I would starve first!

Describe the worst physical fight you’ve ever been in. I was a Jr. in high school and my ex-best friend had gone around telling people she was going to beat me up and then she came to the cafeteria where I was minding my own business having lunch and threw a chocolate milkshake all over my pretty white sweater.  I then proceeded to get up and apparently threw chairs across the cafeteria (no one was hurt thankfully) and then we made it to the door and began hitting each other (hey - I was defending myself) and the next thing I know - the principal came and broke it up and sent us home.  Luckily he liked us both so he didn't suspend either of us. HA!

Name one song that if you never heard it ever again, you’d be thrilled. YMCA or really anything from the Village People. (totally copied from Mama's Pixie Dust)

Describe the “drunkest” situation you’ve ever been.  It had to be while I was in College as I've never been that drunk again since.  Though, I've tied some on and felt real bad the next day - it was never as bad as my college years. :o)

What’s your biggest regret? Too many to mention - but they usually involve my dealings with men in my life while I was growing up and thinking I knew it all. *sigh*

Hope you all have a wonderful day - I am running late as usual and have to hop.
