Germany Vacation - Day 6!

Happy Fall Ya'll! Welcome to Tuesday and the first day of Autumn!  This is my most F.A.V.O.R.I.T.E time of year - and it is so beautiful here in the Northeast during the Fall that I can hardly wait for the leaves to get completely changed over.  We have some trees changing already but they are not all in full fall color yet.

Okay - so... on to day 6:

Chris driving on the Autobon (sp?) on the way to Heidelberg

ALL roads in Germany lead to here - AUSFAHRT - NO KIDDING!
(and yes, it is pronounced the way it looks)

Weird statue in the middle of Heidelberg

Downtown Heidelberg

Some of the delicious desserts in the windows to pull you in:

I thought this was a neat sign downtown - if you look at it right - you'll see it says "LIES"

We then headed out on our bus tour of Heidelberg and then a tour of the main castle there. It was BEAUTIFUL to say the least - judge for yourself! :o)

My husband thinks this picture below is the one from the Sound of Music where they all performed on stage near the end of the movie - If you look closely you can see the bleachers in front of that particular building:

The Castle

View from the top:

It also houses THE largest Vat in the world:

After the tour, we picked Sandra (my cousin's girlfriend) up and went to a bar and met her parents, aunts, uncles and cousin who had been going to this bar/restaurant at 5:00 every Thursday afternoon for the last 35 years - we had a great time and the food, beer and company was delicious!  Sandra's family were very nice and very friendly - along with VERY FUNNY - most of them didn't even speak any English so Chris was doing a LOT of translating back and forth between us all:

Well that concludes the tour for today.  Tune in tomorrow for the final showcase of our vacation pictures and Frankenstein's Castle!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
Hugs, Trac~ :o)
