Well this isn't going to be my typical Post-It Note Tuesday as I wanted to show you pictures from our Thanksgiving this year as well as pictures of my Christmas tree - that my kids both have told me was the prettiest it's ever been and my husband said it was the most elegant. Now, I take a lot of pride in my tree each year, so I'm not sure how to take those compliments exactly (they were compliments, right?!-lol). Anyway - here are a few pictures from our holiday weekend: (Sorry - Picture overload)
Picture of my table before we got ready to eat:
Closeup of Table Setting
Close up of Pilgrims, etc.
My husband's FAVORITE Cheesecake of all time from Carnegie Deli here in NYC - I surprised him with it for Thanksgiving
Our Turkey after it came out of the oven before we opened the bag to carve
Preparing to carve
Hubster carving the turkey
Juicy and falling off the bone tender and delicious
Our table spread minus the Cranberry sauce - I forgot to get it out of the refrigerator
My plate - hee hee hee
View from our deck - clouds reflecting off the lake
My beautiful daughter, A and her boyfriend F - heading out to a friend's Sweet 16 party
Pictures of our tree
(Notice the Starbucks Ornament - I couldn't pass it up - hee hee hee)
Well, there it is - sorry for the picture overload but I have to agree with the kids (though these pictures don't do it justice) I think this is the prettiest tree we've ever had. For those of you who know me and know me well know I change out my ornaments E.V.E.R.Y Y.E.A.R and have never had red, green, silver and white before now. But, I think these are colors I will be using for a few years to come. On another note - thank you for all of the sweet comments yesterday - I am still not feeling up to par which is why I've not been able to comment on your posts (though I promise I am reading them all daily) - I just am so tired still and not feeling well, that I am literally falling into bed as soon as I can every night just trying to catch up on my rest so that I can shake this cold and not even getting on the computer in the evenings. Anyway, I promise to start commenting on your posts again real soon - so please don't get discouraged with me - I am still here and thinking of all of you.
Hope you all have a wonderful and blessed day! Hard to believe it is December 1st and it is 30 something degrees outside this morning - time to pull out the Wool Coat - YUCK!
Lots of love,
Trac~:o)

ReplyDeletePS- that's too funny about Carnegie Deli's cheesecake... how does he feel about Junior's?
Gorgeous pics!!
ReplyDeleteI love your Thanksgiving tablescape. Those leaf plates are so pretty! And your tree does look very elegant. It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIm just gonna start calling you Martha Stewart(a compliment coming from me, I LOVE HER) seriously, that table and tree could be in a mag.....wow
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is beautiful. Your Thanksgiving was much fancier than ours. The timeshare unit was too small, the kitchen laughable...not really. Since the unit was only stocked for six while we had seven, everyone was missing some item from their table set up...a spoon for this person, a knife for that person, a fork for another...But it was a good time, if not memorable.
ReplyDeleteWow....your table setting for Thanksgiving is stunning. I love the leaf plates.
ReplyDeleteAnd the tree! Gorgeous!
