WOW - where is this year going? It is all going by so fast. *sigh* I must say, I have gotten some of my Christmas shopping out of the way though - which I am actually EARLY on this year but LATE on making my Christmas cards. I usually have those completed by the 3rd week of October and ready to be sent out the day after Thanksgiving - ACK! I am about to go into full fledged panic mode soon. I need to get busy and on the ball.
So what about you? Have you gotten any of your Christmas shopping completed yet? I would love to hear your family traditions if you have any you would like to share. Since we now live away from all of our family and friends, our tradition the last 5 years has consisted of putting our tree up on Thanksgiving night while watching Christmas movies and hanging out together as a family and then going into full fledged decorating mode for the rest of the weekend. I don't like to drag it out, but my husband would much prefer us to decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving and like I told you before - I just can't do that. I don't want to skip what I feel is a very important holiday before Christmas arrives. On Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, I used to spend it with my bestie back home Christmas shopping from 4 a.m. until 7 p.m. that night (just me and her and it was complete bliss) - and I miss that (and her) terribly. It's just not the same and now that my kids are practically grown, I don't need those $20 barbies for $2.99 so I don't see the need to get up and fight all of those crowds by myself. I have done a lot of my shopping this year online just in the last few days and it feels good to get some of it done at least.
Well, thanks for stopping by to say hello my friends! And welcome to all of my newest followers. If I've not made it to your blogs yet, I promise I will soon! Have a great day guys and dolls!
Lots of love and hugs,
44 days and I am almost READY!! Woo hoo!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait until I can come visit NYC. I have never been and it's towards the top of my must see list!
I am not in any hurry to decorate or buy Christmas gifts...it only means I will be freezing my butt off all the sooner.
ReplyDeleteWeb shopping sounds like a good solution to crowd control.
44 days...omg, and I dont have one gift yet:(
ReplyDeleteI am sooo behind! I've only bought one gift so far. Not good! 44 days? I'm in so much trouble!
