Day 2 - Oregon Coastline - Cannon Beach

Happy Thursday my friends!  We are almost to the weekend!  Just one more day - woot woot!  I can't believe how fast this week has flown by for me - especially just returning from vacation!  But, I am SO happy because we have a special weekend planned and I can't wait! :)  Okay - so on to what you're really here to see.

After we left Fort Clatsop we made our way to Seaside and did a little shopping at the Tanger Outlet mall there.  It wasn't very big but we were able to find a few things we were in desperate need of and for great prices to boot! :)

We left our shopping trip and headed to Cannon Beach - it was THE MOST GORGEOUS place we had visited at all on our trip.  We had been dying to get to the Pacific Ocean and we happened upon this place by PURE accident.  Boy, were we ever happy!  Nothing can compare to this place - it was BEAUTIFUL!!!  We want to take another trip out there and we have already decided this is where we will stay when we go back!  For those who don't know - Cannon Beach is famous for the "Haystack" Rock - don't ask me why, as I haven't a clue - BUT I do know that it's a very neat place to see.  Just take a look for yourself and tell me what you think?! :)

If you look hard enough you can see Japan - ha ha ha

 The infamous Haystack Rock

The lighthouse we couldn't get to.  The man who used to live in it had to be transported from it to the shore by helicopter

The water was VERY COLD as you can imagine (the temps were only in the 50's and it was drizzling off and on as well)

Close-up of Haystack Rock - there were signs posted that you weren't allowed to climb on this rock.  How, may you ask, were you able to get to the rock anyway?  Well... you wait for low tide of course, and then apparently you can walk right up to it

To the left of Haystack Rock - you can see one of the signs in this picture actually
 Me and my honey :)

That ends the visit to Cannon Beach/Haystack Rock.  Be sure to stop by again tomorrow so I can show you our adorable cottage that we stayed in while visiting Cannon Beach.  It was very cute, as was the town - however, their pizza totally sucked!  Sigh - Oh well - the rest of the place was neat to see at least. :)

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by to say hi!

Lots of love and hugs,
