Weekend/Thanksgiving Recap - (long)

Happy Monday doll faces! Hope you had a fantastic holiday weekend and got to enjoy a lot of time with your family and friends and made a lot of new memories to cherish forever. We had a wonderful holiday weekend and a nice/quiet one as well.  It couldn't have been any better. :)  Here is the quick run down of our holiday:

*  Left work Wednesday night at the normal time and headed to meet my hubby for Mexican food and nice cold beer before the festivities began the next day

*  Thanksgiving Day I got started preparing and cooking the turkey at 6:30 that morning and went on to cook the rest of our food, along with watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and a few Christmas movies.  Here are some pictures of our delicious food that I prepared for the festivities:

Turkey in a brown paper bag - always a perfect, juicy turkey (though this year there were one two small fire mishaps in the oven while trying to get the turkey out)

Obligatory photo of hubby carving the turkey:

Homemade Paleo Cranberry Sauce - OMG YUMMY

 The "Spread"

Pioneer Woman's Sweet Potato Casserole, Sweet Corn, Paleo Gravy, Turkey:

Mrs. Schubert's rolls, mashed potatoes and green bean casserole:

My plate:

The dessert - Apple Crisp, Pumpkin Cream Cheese Roll and Pumpkin Pie:

We also snapped a few pictures after lunch.  It was just me and hubby and our son and his girlfriend. This was one of the first Thanksgiving's that I can recall that my son was actually off all day - talk about a nice surprise and wonderful blessing:

After lunch and a few photos, we made our annual trip to the Airport to hand deliver Thanksgiving dinner to my husband's employees who had to work that day, along with some dessert. They were super excited and appreciated the gesture as always.  We love doing that little part every year to show our appreciation for his employees who keep things running so hubby can be home with us.  Then we curled up on the couch, watched another couple of Christmas movies and enjoyed a nice glass or two of wine

*  Friday I got up and went to work - blah   However, I was able to get some CHRISTmas cards addressed and in the mail, which made me happy, though I am still way behind on that considering that I always have ALL 75 of them out the day after Thanksgiving - ack!!!  I don't know about you, but I lurve me some Peanuts! :)

Hubby was lucky enough not to have to work on Friday so he ran a few errands and then picked me up for lunch.  After work, I ran home and then met hubby for another nice dinner and drinks.

*  Saturday morning we got up and worked around the house and ran some quick errands and then we went to our local Movie Tavern here to watch the movie, Creed.  OMG, all I can say was it was SO AWESOME and if you've not had a chance to see it yet, please GO watch it! I was very pleasantly surprised to say the least! Besides, who doesn't enjoy a nice Rocky movie, right?! And the young guy playing Creed is actually pretty HOT, so yeah, there was that! :)

Then Saturday night 12:30 a.m. our power went out again.  My husband heard a loud pop pop pop and ran outside to try and flip the breaker to see if he could get our power back on but when he did, less than 10 feet behind him, sparks started flying up out of the ground and it started smoking.  Come to find out we had a live wire underground that the people who lived here before us had apparently forgotten to deactivate the live wire and didn't even tape it off.  Needless to say we got very lucky that we didn't have a fire in our house and lucky our dogs didn't get a hold of it either.  This started at 12:30 a.m. and we had the Electric company out at 2 a.m. fixing the problem, which is how we learned of the issues that happened.  Why people think they can play electrician and do things half-way is enough to drive me bonkers.  Even though we are only renting the house, we got extremely lucky that none of us got hurt due to their carelessness.

*  Sunday we slept in and literally laid around the house watching Christmas movies and listened to the rain all afternoon while relaxing.  Enjoyed another glass or two of wine, Face timed with my new little grandson and daughter, cooked dinner and just enjoyed the rest of our night relaxing while preparing for the new week ahead, which I must admit, I am dreading completely - blah  However, we had completely forgotten to check our mail on Saturday, so hubby ran down to the corner of the road to see what was there and this surprise was in my mailbox from my baby sister, who lives in Florida - she knows I LOVE my HOGS!! :)

So that is a quick recap of my holiday weekend - how was yours? Can't wait to catch up! Thanks for stopping by to say hello and have a fabulous Monday. :)  Linking up with these pretties today:

Happy Friday Peeps!

Good morning - hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving with your families yesterday and maybe you are still celebrating time together by doing all of your CHRISTmas shopping today on Black Friday and fighting the crowds, or maybe you are like me and have to go back to work today - blah

Either way, I hope you had a fabulous day yesterday and I can't wait to catch up with you on Monday for my weekend recap, which will also include the festivities from Thanksgiving yesterday.  Right now I'm trying to actually function and drink my first cup of coffee just to get my day started without sleep in my eyes so this is going to be short and sweet and to the point.

So cheers and have a fab day! Thanks for stopping by to say hello! :)

What's Hap-"pinning" Wednesday

Happy Hump Day guys and dolls! Hope you're having a fabulous week so far and are lucky enough to have the week, or even a few days off for the Thanksgiving holiday. :)  Today is the normal What's Hap-"pinning" Wednesday link up party that I enjoy joining each week with Jessi and Jenn, so come play along, won't you?! :)

Instead of sharing Pinterest pins this week, I wanted to share these with you instead.  And since we can post about anything, then I wanted to post about my newest "Thankful for blessing" and hope you enjoy them.  I'm sorry if you've already been to my blog this week and seen them - LOL

Have a wonderful week and an extra special Thanksgiving with your families.  Thank you so much for stopping by to say hello! :)

Lots of love and hugs,

Hey, It's Okay Tuesday

Happy Happy Tuesday doll faces! I hope you are one of the few who are getting to actually enjoy the week of Thanksgiving off and are relaxing by your fireplace sipping on hot chocolate in your pj's while staring at your CHRISTmas tree lights.  If you are - kudos to you and I am insanely jealous but thrilled for you! :) is the link up party with Amber, so come play along, won't you?!

*  To still be eating Halloween candy - milk duds are my absolute fave especially when they are right out of the freezer

*  To have given up completely on my healthy eating habits through the end of the year.  I just have had so much going on that I've not had the dedication within me to continue the Whole 30/Paleo process

*  To be extremely overjoyed that my precious grandson has finally made his debut in this world so that I can just gush over him constantly, even if from a distance - I mean, just look at him - how can you not love that sweet baby's face :)

*  To be thrilled that this is a short week, though I do have to work 4 days of the week, it is going to be a very quiet week at work, which will make it not too bad going to the office the day after Thanksgiving

*  To not have even planned my Thanksgiving meal as of yet.  I usually have everything already planned and bought and ready to cook by Wednesday, but the only thing I have so far is the turkey - HA!

*  To be wishing we lived back home in Arkansas so that we could be close to our family and be able to spend the holiday with them.  I miss having our huge family and friend Thanksgiving holiday at my dad's every year

*  To be behind and not have my CHRISTmas cards filled out and in envelopes and ready to go the day after Thanksgiving - I've been in baby mode and just haven't gotten them started yet

SO what about you?  What is on your Hey, It's Okay Tuesday list?  Can't wait to hear all about it! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by to say hello.

Lots of love and hugs,
